About to play this for the first time. What should I expect?
About to play this for the first time. What should I expect?
janky but worth the ride
It's a great game and only spergs hate it
Do a mage run, super fucking easy
don't level adp if you want to truly learn how shitty this game is
If you like making builds in rpgs you will like it.
I fraaaaaaamees
Was looking at a Hexer build for versatility.
Best thing I can say to help you:
Don't come into this expecting Dark Souls 1. This game is more of a sequel to Demon's Souls in level design and mechanics.
Matthewmatosis said he didn't like it so i don't either poopoo peepee im shitting! Durrrr
don't bother nobody actually plays this in fact I never even made it past Gundyr
game blows dick
>Denial
>Anger
>Bargaining
>Grief
>Acceptance
Or you can learn from my mistake and just proceed straight to Dark Souls III
Soul memory killed this game for me.
Worst game in the series but still better than 95% of titles released in its lifetime. Fairly mediocre base game but above average DLC. Definitely worth dozens if not 100+ hours, easy.
>Gundyr
What game do you think you played?
Trash tier bosses, copy paste enemies, cancer hitboxes, boring locations.
To dump point into ADP until the game becomes playable.
my biggest gripe with the game are the animations. A game of this type should have animations that are readable and not "mushy" (you'll see for yourself)
other than that I really enjoyed the game and is the ds game i replay the most
THESE SHIELDS BASED ON A FANART CONTEST HAVE FANSERVICE
Power stancing was a cool feature.
That's about the only nice thing I can say about it.
I've tried pretty much every build and the funnest to play is actually a heavy stamina and High HP one despite the lack of flashiness. You can level everything else up later, but if you get those two stats up early it makes the game pretty fun since the restricted estuses won't hurt you too bad. In fact if you have 12 faith heal it makes the build great for all content except PvP.
A janky version of the previous game
It's oddly unique in a sort of fever dream kind of way where nothing really makes sense
I doubt the online aspect of it is very active nowadays so sadly you're missing out on that but it still has a lot of random weapons and builds for you to try out
>DS2 is a sequel to Demon's Souls in level design
Yes, in the same way that shit is a sequel to a lavish meal
>About to play this for the first time. What should I expect?
You just started a forbidden thread, answers will go from game is shit to game is great, no middle ground, btw that game is garbage, worst souls clone ever made, refund it while you can.
playing wizard really easy mode? because I know 2 is the hardest of the 3 but IM interested more in experiencing the exploration, lore and adventure aspect, more than being assraped especially after a long break from the series
yes, and no 2 is not the hardest 2 is the shittiest.
I swear I never leveled adp when I played the game for the first time and never had any problems. Is everyone who complains about this some sort of retard who doesn't understand rolling/backstep lets you also move out of the way of attacks as well as dodge them with iframes?
>playing a mage into the dlc
Hope you boys like being resisted by literally every enemy and then fucked up the ass
>Is everyone who complains about this some sort of retard
you figured it out
Some kind of fantasy adventure or something. I really fucking like it though even if the "atmosphere" is different from DS1. Rat Covenant best Covenant btw
disappointment
I was about to call you a faggot, but then I remembered you've got rats with mohawks
See my post here
I forgot to add, but you can get infinite life gems from the merchant pretty early on, so if you heavily invest in HP and stamina the game only has a few bosses that are somewhat challenging. While I mentioned why HP is nice, stanima is the most important it's ever been in the series due to the movement type.
Find all the estus shards available early, invest in enough att and faith to get heal, and get high HP will make exploring easier than a straight up INT/ Hexer build.
don't liberate the wizard
But it's ds3 that has extremely unreadable animations. Even the most basic enemies seem to have a long (but inconsistently long) windup, and then a super fast swing. Then you also have charged strong attacks that are just unpredictable.
Liberate the wizard
>nerfed lightning
>nerfed santa's spear
>nerfed ugs weapons
>nerfed pyromancy
Sorry, I don't play games that nerf my fun. Which is why Souls past 1 is shite.
>dark souls 1 is a shitty game because if you don't level end you have no stamina!
dark souls but bad
I remember leveling stamina and HP in both 1 and 3 anyway it just made sense
It has like 5-6 moments of rage inducing cheap ambushes that you learn to accept. Go with the mindset of "everything is going to try to rekt me". Besides that, the game is very good.
A very fucking terrible game. Played it at launch, finished it and hated it. Played again juat a few months ago and dropped it halfway through
its just seriously fucking bad.
oh, and level up ADP to ~100 ASAP for "regular" i-frames. it really helps
base game is eh but the DLCs are pretty good, they will give you an idea of what Tanimura and B-team are capable of if they're given reasonable deadlines and resources.
You should expect a shitty thread that isn't worth reading through.
You know that SOUL SOULLESS meme?
DS2 and 3 is unironically SOULLESS
on release faith was OP as fuck, now the mace is OP almost every enemy is weak to blunt
It only ranges from those opinions because DaS2 babies started with it and think its great and people who've played DaS1 or DS think its complete fucking garbage and rightfully so because it gets rid of everything that made previous games fun. DaS2 is for spergs who just pvp on the bridge because they unironically have no taste.
Dark Souls 1 but with fairly better combat and a lot less bullshit level design. A nice arpg overall.
While 2 is alot better than 3, it actually suffers the "unpolished/unfinished second half" meme much more than DS1.
>Dark Souls 1 but with fairly better combat and a lot less bullshit level design.
A shit pve game but fun pvp
that's correct
