Isn't this game kinda tedious and repetitive?
Anno

no, you are wrong
Anno 1800 is one of the comfiest games currently out

No, it rewards you highly for thinking out layouts properly and expanding aggressively. It's only boring if you stop thinking or expand slowly.
Nope, it's the best game ever.
I have been meaning to give this game a try for about 20 years, never got around to it.

Am I the only one who wants a mod for anno that makes the world the isles of Dishonored?
>Both games have a heavy focus on early industrialized society
>Aestethics for Dunwall and Karnaca basically already there
>Damnit I've got comfy anno now I want grimdark dishonored anno
>playing the game and relaxing with the soothing music
>that shit starts playing for 20 minutes on loop because one guy is on strike
I've been playing the series since the first one -1602. this and age of empires 1 have been pretty much the only games I was able to play back in the 90s and there have been some mediocre to shit annos but 1800 is pretty damn good
"Comfy" is usually code for "boring" and your link does nothing to disprove this, kinda like Anno altogether.
>EGS exclusive
Miss me with that gay shit.
don't call it comfy, that word means it appeals to nintendo-class manchildren
>>EGS exclusive
except it isn't.
I keep seeing the egs exclusive posts all the time in these threads
It's probably from pirates who just don't want to pay for the game
AI is shit as usual. Either does absolutely nothing or is a complete warmonger that cheats.
Still the best Anno game though in my opinion, I've been playing them for 20 years.
I never liked the war in anno games. it has always been lacking of any substance. why they keep on putting it in is beyond me. most players are in it for the comfy empire building and trade route optimization
It's literally the same as 1984. War exists to consume your resources.
I played it when the beta or something was free, and the trading was unironically dog shit. Absolutely retarded amounts of micromanaging, making multiplayer dumb as fuck. I feel like trading is literally the most important mechanic, so I don't understand why it's so dog shit.
Good thing the developers don't listen to faggots like you otherwise this series would also be dumbed down like every other game
Have fun with your crate counting simulator.
Welcome to basically every Ubi title ever made.
Campaign fun? Worth a playthrough?
I like games like Anno but I like playing through a Campaign which is why I didnt like Tropico 6, no campaign, just scenarios.
Yes, but that might be my 500+ hours in anno 1404 speaking. Fundamentally it plays exactly the same as the older titles. I just see it as a franchise that I enjoyed but won't need to replay any time soon.
NEVER EVER
>everyone on Zig Forums keeps selling it as a comfy laid back game
>start up 1404, get to work on building up my cities, acquiring more resources, colonizing nearby islands and developing
>early late game i start not being able to find the resources i need so i venture around the map
>all the oriental islands occupied by the ai player
>ai player refuses to trade and cooperate so now i'm stuck not being able to progress and i haven't been building an offensive military at all and i'd likely get crushed in a war
this was about two years ago, haven't mustered up the willpower to start up another game now that i know i need to be a bit more aggressive
It has some surprisingly good characters and voice acting but it's pretty much just the normal game with more restrictions and guidance with a story weaved into the gameplay mechanics. Personally I don't think any kind of tutorial or guidance is needed to play Anno since it's a pretty intuitive game so it's only worth it if you really want this kind of guided experience instead of being left to a completely unrestricted and unguided game session right from the beginning.
You can buy out an islands, the AI usually only expands one or two island to a very high degree so they leave a lot of islands with only light industry that you can buy out relatively cheap. No war is needed. You can buy shares of every island regardless of your status with the holder and if you hold a majority of the shares you can buy out the entire island so it belongs to you.
I have only seen that option myself 30 hours into the game.
I don't know, no steam no buy.
Repetitive in the sense that I keep reinstalling it, yes.
Thanks OP. Here I go again.
