Speedrunning is the most degenerate act humanity has come up with.

Only game I watch speedruns for is mario 64 and I find them entertaining from time to time. Even the exploitation of glitches in that game I find quite fun since they tend to centre around strange but beleivable effects of the physics system of the game.
It is a game that has been played over and over and over so seeing people play it in unusual ways does not bother me. Also, most games have a non glitch / 100% speed run category do they not?

Speedruns are fun to me precisely because they're absurd
Endurance runs are a good example, try skipping through someone attempting to 100% a collectathon

You should see what Zig Forums is like for fighting games or anything even vaguely competitive.

I like watching speed runs of games I'm nostalgic about only. It's nice to experience an old game in a new, interesting way that's also time efficient.

Hard games are fun. Speedrunning is not.
Realize that people like hard games and challenges because at the end of the day you come out with the feeling of satisfaction of beating the game/challenge etc. Not to mention *good* difficult games have those moments spread out. It's not a constant stream of misery through and through until you get a small reward at the end. You get small victories one after the other throughout the whole experience, but the difficulty bar is being raised up in a steady manner.
With speedrunning you do nothing but have complete focus, not allowing yourself to make a single mistake, being stressed out over frame-perfect glitches or being 0.2 seconds ahead of previous World Record, spending hundreds if not thousands of hours """mastering""" not the game, but the glitches, bugs and explots that let you skip actual game, and doing all that for a retarded Twitch audience that hates you, only then to go to the tranny-filled sterile GDQ event after which you will get banned because you accidentely said "ass" on camera or made problematic comments 10 years ago. Or even worse, become a tranny yourself.
This is why only glitchless, legit runs of games like Resident Evil etc. are fun.
