Zelda is an overrated franchise. I said it. I'm not saying it's bad, not even saying it's less than great, but people hype this franchise up like it's the best collection of games ever created.

Almost all of the 3d zeldas suck ass including this one

>OP calls a game good
>image has no relation to Halo 2

You must be a shitposting autist cause I can't fathom how you or anyone can possibly think that TP is better than ALBW or BotW.

Attached: 1536599535539.gif (500x405, 445.86K)

Wrong. The two Oracle games were the last releases between Wind Waker and Four Swords, and the franchise never really recovered until BotW.

TP, aka a OoT wannabe that's worse in every way, is the worst 3D Zelda next to SS. Actually I give SS more credit for actually trying something new at the very least.

whatever game came before WW was the last good Zelda

As someone who's completed nearly every Zelda game that matters, I agree. They're breddy gud games and worth praise but people need to stop pretending they're God's gift to gaming.

i liked a link between worlds a lot, more than oot and botw. certainly much more than link awakening remake

Oops wrong game!

For real though, TP over BotW?

>IT GOOD BCUZ IT SUBVERTS UR EXPECTATION DURR AM I COOL YET??? xD LOL
Cringe. >>>Reddit is that way.

not op, but while botw is very very good, it does not FEEL like a zelda game. maybe this is what he meant? either this or low quality bait

Is it just me or was the WW remaster much better than the TP remaster?...Or maybe all I really wanted back then was a "mature" Zelda, and so I was biased for TP and against WW. It's the same reason why I skipped FF9 until much later.

Imagine being such a contrarian faggot you feel obligated to criticize the greatest video game series of all time

>Empty map
>no dungeons
>bad combat

The shrines are an awful idea. Basically a phone game puzzle x100 with the same music and themes.

Nah, it wasn't bad but it has far too much padding. After MM, Zelda wasn't good again until ALBW and BotW.

Except it does...BotW just feels less like a OoT clone

ALBW was garbage, made it two hours in and decided to just replay ALTTP instead (the superior experience)

i agree with you, but the board is full of zoomer whose first zelda was tp

I didn't make a single argument about "subverting expectations" retard

>Empty map
Retarded meme

> no dungeons
5 main dungeons, 100+ mini-dungeons

> bad combat
It's way more involved and open to creativity than previous 3D Zeldas. Much better than TP giving you quarter heart damage, auto-shield, and giving OP abilities that you don't even need.

>the two GBC games were the last good Zelda games until BOTW
>16 years between the Oracle games and BOTW
Brand loyalty is a hell of a thing. If it wasn't for CONSOOMERS, Zelda might have died out. The only decent games between those two were Between Worlds and maybe Minish Cap. What is it about Wind Waker that killed the series direction like that?

I don't see how someone could be so contrarian or speak in such hyperbole that ALttP is so amazing and ALBW is trash. But I'm not surprised given you only played 2 hours.

Based. Halo 2 is the only good game ever made.

I can't imagine TP being my first Zelda and enjoying it. It has tons of OoT Zelda references that wouldn't otherwise be appreciated. It feels less standalone than even MM

>5 main dungeons, 100+ mini-dungeons
You can make an argument for lack of dungeon variety when it comes to music or visuals, but saying "no dungeons" is just fucking stupid and blatantly false

ok
no
irrelevant
botw is hardly zelda, but you're right that albw is good, better than TP? maybe not
it didn't have a need to recover, the floodgates are now open to far more casuals now, is that a good thing? perhaps
it is more an omage to OoT, it is a great game in its own right, it really plays up the epic angle with large scale bosses, one of them in a pinball machine really, another is a spider-man double clawshot fight against a dragon up in the sky during a thunderstorm, the game is capped off by pulling back the curtain on the main villain to reveal ganon whom you have a multiple stage showdown with
majora's mask was the start of nu-zelda, leaning heavily into gimmickry, it's the ultimate hipster's zelda
it's good but not the best one by a longshot (get it? longshot? lel kek)
but up until mm they were blessings to the consoles
acceptance
TP>BotW obviously
agree
both remasters aren't very good if anything the games should have been remade moreover, and the OG versions included
yea
totally
mm has the most padded out experience bar ww
just stretching out a few hours into a dozen or so
botw feels like far cry x assassin's creed, but without the intriguing plot
idk
TP was my third maybe, fourth I guess
empty map, wherever you go there are long stretches of nothing in particular with an overabundance of
>korok seeds
scattered everywhere so you can feel like you're acomplishing something, well and good except for the fact the rewards crop out at 50% completion, never have I played a game where you're encouraged to stop playing it all the way through

divine beasts are like mini-dungeons in older zelda, they are largely uninvolved and over far too quickly, once again without the equipment enhancements that allow more overworld exploration

Attached: old.jpg (1139x628, 53.08K)

combat is good in TP because you can unlock advance techniques that come in handy in fights

Zoomer confirmed

ok boomer

You hardly ever need those. Enemies are easy as it is

Not him but agree. Bought it and game started with "wake up" bulshit with UK accent...mmkay, and the most bare bones hero's journey story intro ever. Yikes. Then, after 1 minute of checking controls and moving outside the cave, fucking 11fps. Game punishes me for trying out stuff like running... but low stamina, you can climb because low stamina, or a random thunderbolt takes you out of the mountain.

While i have no doubt the characters you meet along the way are interesting like in any zelda game fashion, its just not enjoyable enough for me to keep playing. Works for nintendo fans since they havent played any open world modern rpg, but most of us play botw in 2009 in the for of AC2.

Twilight Princess is mediocre. Bad items that are largely useless, way too much OoT pandering, boring simple dungeons, combat that isn't really interesting or special.

*your

>random thunderbolt
>random

oh user, you're not so bright

Not even as good as SS.

TP is a shitty ALTTP

TP had a few good dungeons but the rest of the game was fucking shit.

TP FEELS like a medicore Zelda game, so who cares?

>combat is good in TP because you can unlock advance techniques that come in handy in fights
combat was shit it was a slighly improved OoT but with piss easy enemies and bosses that you have to try to die on. Wolf link was shit and everything was automated from lock on attack enemies to auto jumping

>Hey, its raining so its your fault using metal
>"wow nintendo physics are so good, look how i stop this tree in time, hit it 3 times and go flying like Tao Pai Pai.... Nintendo, you are using NASA software voodu magic"
The games introduces mechanics to hurt the gameplay. Thats a fact.
>Also, defending the random lighting comment instead of debunking the others
Well, i gladly take that mistake if that means everything above was design flaw.

doesn't really invalidate my claim at all

*blocks your path for the tenth time*

how do TP fags defend this game its filled with padding and filler and anything outside dungeons is shit. its a 15 hour game made into a 30 hour game

Attached: shadow-beast-and-wolf-link-tp1.jpg (672x496, 43K)

I never made it past the sky temple I got stuck on some puzzle there or I didnt know where to go next and I never figured it out. I think I was 12 years old. I'm a bit of a brainlet
