When was the trailer?

Is it gonna be open world?
Im replaying DS3 for the 87th time and I need more soulsbornkiro

I think (I hope) it's gonna be open world in the same way ds1 had an interconnected map.

June 2019

>implying

>GRRM is involved with the making of the game
>infinitely delayed, no fucking news about it outside of the initial trailer
Winds of Winter will come out before Elden Ring at this rate.

Fuck user, that's a very bad pic of memehack.

This game has become a mummer's farce

We don't know if it's true open world like say TES games, or large hubs connected together. My money is on the latter.

But the fact that they mentioned mounts/horses means that the areas will need to be pretty damn big and open to make use of that kind of movement speed & freedom.

My guess is that the world will be pretty open with dynamic AI that can move about, but with souls style "levels" spread across the open world that you can travel too, castles, ruins, caves etc. These areas will have the normal static souls style AI that is the generally the same each time, I'd guess.

So a mix of dynamic open world for traveling/exploration, and classic souls levels to be conquered.

Sounds more like an experiment to try to get into open world games more than an open world game really. Still, if done correctly could be great. I just hope they don't copy tolkien for the setting, I don't want to play oblivion again.

Isn't there supposed to be a day/night cycle where outside bosses/enemies act differently according to the time? I'd wager Elden Ring's gonna be Ocarina of Time: Fromsoft edition

That would track with what they were intending to do in DaSIII before the cuts.

>Blasphemous free DLC dropped
>Death's Gambit free DLC following
>Remnant From the Ashes final DLC this month
>Mortal Shell in September
>Sekiro update in October
>Nioh 2 1st DLC just dropped and 2 more are on the way
>Demon's Souls online alive again on RPCS3
>Demon's Souls Remake as a launch title
>Bloodborne Remastered before the end of the year
You have plenty of Soulslikes to cope with the Elden Ring delay senpai.
Imagine being a stylish action fan. We had a content drought ever since Astral Chain. DMC5:SE never ever, Bayonetta 3 never ever, Babylon's Fall never ever.

I can see a lot of complaints about the open world just being padding between the real content, unless they can do something interesting with it

supposedly this is a screenshot someone leaked.
not sure how true but the imagur along with the leak for a lake boss all got taken down
personally I think its a fake. I think someone just shooped over the horse-boss from Bloodborne or whatever but who knows.

>Imagine being a stylish action fan. We had a content drought ever since Astral Chain
>1 year
You know nothing about droughts

Yeah, we've waited 10 years for 4 games.
Fuck the guy who talked about Ninja Gaiden 4 few weeks ago too.

Obviously fake, people sure are desperate it seems.

Honestly all the radio silence is making me worried that FROM is having trouble implementing the open world meme, I say this mostly because of how much of a mess ds2's development was. They tried something a little too ambitious and got fucked when they had the game halfway finished and were forced to scrap alot/basically start over.

Just looking at some of the really cool ds2 concept art and early interviews makes me kinda dread that happening yet again.

Yes omnipotent mentioned a real time day/night cycle and dynamic migrating AI. I think he also mentioned it affecting bosses.

By that, I'm guessing he meant bosses found in the "open world" sections can be different or found in different places depending on the time and their AI. I'd still expect classic souls style areas and bosses though with fixed setups, just like in all the previous games, castles, ruins etc, but these will be surrounded by the open world areas that are more dynamic.

It sucks but it was also expected. It got announced only three months after Sekiro's release

>They tried something a little too ambitious
What did they intended to do? As far as I know, they just tried to imitate Miyazaki, is that ambition?
>cool ds2 concept art
Not really, the designs were generic mmo dark fantasy and souls reused assets, the only design I actually like is the chariot. Even other good bosses like the fume knight had a very weak design compared to, for example, Artorias.

Proven fake, taken from a guys art station

this pic always cracks me up

They just announced it super early in development

>if you only knew how bad things are at from's

it's the eyes, those are not miyazaki eyes
yeah I'd be surprised if the day/night cycle affected the levels outside the open world

cmon i know the game is about a unique ring but they wouldn't be so obviously stupid to rip off lotr instead of the usual berserk

Looks too clean and goofy

So it's just the A team making it or is B team helping too?

Oh god, if Miyazaky does some sort of shadow of the colossus game i'm gonna unironically cum.

What is that even supposed to be?

Relax. Stop panicking. Stop doomsaying in every thread. Keep up with the news. Omni said that the only thing that's somewhat hindering the actual development is them now working from home due to corona. It's not stuck in development hell otherwise.

However there MIGHT be a clear cut reason as to why Bamco hasn't been promoting the game for an entire year now. It has to do with them getting rejected over with the trademark of the name. So before they settled this legal issue they probably didn't want to waste the marketing budget, promoting the game with a title that was in danger of being rebranded. They settled the case recently though gamerant.com/elden-ring-trademark-troubles-lack-of-news/

No, Elden Ring has been in development, alongside Sekiro, ever since Ringed City came out. So 3 years now which is pretty long for FROM.

Fuck that redditor meme and every cuck who took it seriously.
