What the fuck is all the hype about? Just looks like Japanese Asscreed to me.
What the fuck is all the hype about? Just looks like Japanese Asscreed to me
Bump because i'm thinking of getting this.
It’s purely aesthetics but yeah it’s a very generic open world action adventure game. Like Horizon Zero Dawn, it does nothing particularly new but is just a very well done version of a formula you’ve played before.
Haven't people been asking for a Japanese assassins creed for a while now and Ubisoft just kept refusing to make one?
Ass creed with no animus set in Japan. What's not to get hype for?
shitty sekiro/nioh, nice
It is but well executed. Good progress loop and nice visuals.
>What's not to get hype for?
The fact that it's Asscreed.
There's nothing to be hyped about, really. It's not that good. People are just starved for an open world game even though we haven't had a decent one since 2018.
Girls.
Boys.
Chickens.
I hate Asscreed but loved Horizon. Should i get this?
Has way more attention to detail and immersion than AC, and combat is more interesting
It’s basically the synthesis of all modern open world games yet it doesn’t fall victim to the typical pitfalls of the genre.
One could say it simply does AC better than AC ever did, but it honestly downplays all the other seemingly minor, but pretty great improvements it makes.
I can safely say this game will be the new standard that other companies will try to copy (and very likely fail at replicating)
it depends, did you like horizon because of aloy or the quests?
Its because snoys were so devoid of a game without any kind of SJW controversy that they overrate the first game it came like that.
Do tell: what was the last “SJW controversy” for a Sony exclusive besides LOU2?
Have you ever played any Ass Creed game ?
Kek it's the exact same feeling (except for gameplay, it's a bit more complex)
The last AAA PS exclusive prior to that was Days Gone over a year ago, so he's right
No, fuck Aloy. I liked it for the environment, mostly. Felt fun to explore.
>every open world game is ass creed
would you call red dead just cowboy asscreed or god of war just viking ass creed?
It's jap ass Creed but without that film of shit that covers every Ubisoft game. It's just much better designed and presented.
It's a great game. You get rewarded for exploration, doing quests, being good at the combat. I wasn't prepared for all the cosmetic options you get in this game. I find myself constantly swapping out outfits/hats/masks/swords to fit the quest I'm on.
The combat feels smooth and when you pull off something nice like flawlessly cutting through a swath of enemies, you feel badass. I don't think I ever got that feeling in AC. I think its how both systems present themselves. The quasi- rock-paper-scissors along with the skills to use in GoT going against archers trying to flush you out, dogs running around, heavies spinning to win, spear fuckers rushing in feels much more dire and hectic.
The aesthetic is unlike any experience I've played thus far on the console. The HUD is often very clean, the color palette is beautiful in areas and the samurai cinematic and stories work. Small quests you encounter are more meaningful and deeper than some entire games main storyline.
When people in this thread say that GoT doesn't do anything different, it just does the old stuff better; it's an understatement. It does stuff introduced in open world games before this and really gives most players what they've asked for, for a long time. It's not a perfect game, but it's a really good one.
Get it. It's really fun and the asscreed like gameplay is just the assassination and climbing segments. You can just walk into enemy camps and tell them fuck you fight me and enjoy the bloodbath you deal out
It's the first Assassin's Creed with SOUL in many years. Probably since pic related.
>no animus
>ghost stance
>not anime as fuck
>People shitting on a game they haven’t played
Just another day on Zig Forums.
as soon as ubi added in the bullshit precursor race or what the fuck ever it went down hill. pretty sure it was at the end of 2 when i knew the series was going to go downhill fucking fast and it did
the game isnt only assassinating and even if you did the assassinations feel much more realistic than the bullshit you find in ac now
i personally play honorable samurai and take on entire camps head on
>Just looks like Japanese Asscreed to me.
Gameplay wise, pretty much, though it is slightly more complex with stances and various weapons. The main appeal is the overall aesthetic, from very good scenery to the flow of combat and abilities imitating old samurai movies.
It's a playstation exclusive, so that means it could afford to get all the care/love a Sony exclusive title has, in terms of production values, attention to details, acting, etc.
Otherwise it's a standard open world game, but with that extra attention and care that other big open world titles can't afford.
What's the story and sidequests like?
Main story is very good, sidequests are average at best.
the combat in ghost of tsushima is much better, has more impact, and the duels are really fun. Ghost of tsushima is kino whereas I would describe most AssCreed games as soulless ubisoft crap.
I don't know about that. I really like the open world navigation with no need for a minimap, and auditory and visual queues to let you know where points of interest are. I think a lot of studios will start to incorporate this. It reminds me of the old Zelda games. Also, though the combat really is nothing new, you can approach things in a lot of different ways.
>Small quests you encounter are more meaningful and deeper than some entire games main storyline.
Can you elaborate? Everything else you talked about seems like pretty standard generic OW stuff but this could potentially make me try it out.
It’s manufactured hype meant to spite The Last Of Us Part II.
Realistically GoT isn’t even better than Infamous Second Son and fails on every level to deliver an experience on par with the cinematic productions it aims to emulate.
Yet another case of shitting on a good game because
>muh Sony boogeyman
Once it gets a release on PC youre gonna see a million
>comfy Tsushima thread
Just like what happened with Death Stranding. Like pottery
cool opinion bro
story and sidequests are good. has a good amount of highs and lows
a lot of sidequests really show just how inhumane people can be and can definitely hit you in the feels, but a lot of them are simple "find my brother" which involves killing like 5 mongols or bandits
story is basically jin torn between honor and survival. taking the stealth route usually ensures survival but being honorable is the samurai way and its how he grew up
9/10, just wish the token open world content had a bit more variety
OP here. I'm not shitting on it per se, but I honestly don't understand the hype based on my limited knowledge of it. I'm actually considering downloading it, but would like to know what other people think before I take the plunge.
I didn't say anything about Sony. Not everyone is a console warrior, bro. I have a PS4, a Switch, and a PC.
Friendly reminder to select the HONOR ending for MAXIMUM KINO.
>GoT isn’t even better than Infamous Second Son
It's better AssCred than any Asscred since rogue/flag. Better than 3 and 1 as well.
The precursor aliens were heavily foreshadowed in the first game, Assassin's Creed was always about ancient ayys
