Will it ever be topped, Zig Forums?
Another generation is coming, and thousands of devs will again try to achieve the gameplay perfection that is Tetris. Will they finally do it?

Name a single video game character more universally beloved by gamers than the Tetris I Piece.
I'll wait.
It can't be done
>appeals to and can be enjoyed by all demographics
>still has enough challenge that only a select few humans can ever be considered grand masters
its a boring game for autists
Go back to Skyrim, this is not for you.
>stacking shapes repeatedly is not autistic
T: Asshurt that recently lost to a 14 chain in PPT
This. Cry all you want, but Tetris is peak video games
It doesn't need waifus or politics or cutscenes or any of that fucking garbage. It is pure fucking gameplay that takes years to master, unlike nearly every other game where you can beat it in a night. It's a fucking shame that too many anons don't understand the complexities of Tetris.
That title would have to go to the T piece then. T spins are way more interesting than anything you can do with an I piece.
You might enjoy bagging groceries for a living, might as well make money from the mental illness
>a game about stacking shapes repeatedly is the best thing that ever came out of this medium
Why is the gaming industry so shit?
Tetris DS is better than Tetris
Tetris 99 is better than Tetris
>game with shit ARE
>games without sprint and ultra
>game that shills Nintendo ads and has no 1v1
>better
The T piece
Puyo requires way more skill and also manages to be more fun to newcomers than Tetris
Puyo requires a hell of a lot more skill to start than Tetris, but I've seen way too many people get filtered by it for the second statement to be true.
Name one-a single fucking game that doesn't involve doing the same action repeatedly. I'll wait, you dipshit.
I regard Tetris almost like math in that it's not really invented, but discovered. Its design is pure elegance and its fun-factor is unstoppable.
>manages to be more fun to newcomers than Tetris
Literally how? Unless you mean literal toddlers because of the funny puyos with the funny eyes. I've tried to play it and I can't understand shit of what's happening, let alone get combos. Any retard can pick up tetris and get a tetris after a minute or two.
If you know how to play Connect 4. Then you know how to play Puyo
Connect 4 doesn't have combos. Of course I can do the basic shit but the basic shit isn't fun, and combos are too complex for my non-puyo oriented mind to understand.
Street fighter
classic or super slippy rotation?
Arika>SRS>NES
I think whatever TGM 1 and 2 uses is a good blend, I think that's Sega rotation.
Anything that has four rotation states for a piece with 180 degree symmetry is inherently garabge
TGM and TGM2 is an updated Sega Rotation. TGM3 updates slightly further by allowing I-piece floorkicks and T-piece floorkicks to get out of holes.
lumines core gameplay is more fun but is marred by a few bad design decisions, would otherwise have been the game to dethrone tetris
The real question is, how can they bring politics into Tetris?
The Soviets won in the end
lumines is fun as fuck but my brain never really unlocked the ability to think multiple moves ahead on the fly and i find the scanning timeline cockblocking me occasionally annoying
where can i find that particular version of tetris?
they add a black piece
I’ve put more hours into tetris over the course of my life than any other game easily. It’s just too perfect. It’s pick up and play, easy to learn but difficult to master.
Why wouldn't it be a Rhode Island S?
>tfw your teewee starts spinning
Because that pic is someone's joke. It's not official.
I'm not a shill, but if you're looking for a good clone, jstris.jezevec10.com is a great free alternative. It's a great place to get started with playing and improving, because the site keeps track of your improvement and plots it on personal graphs on your profile.
