Now that the dust has settled, who was the real winner?

the DS line had a better catalog of games and it's jailbreaking benefits were far and above the psp.

i only had the psp for littlebigplanet lol

just came here to say that i bought a psp (pic related) for $100. comes this week, excited to homebrew and play monster hunter, portable ops, and littlebigplanet.

try out wipeout as well and yugioh gx tag force

im also interested in those dj max games and miku. i have two vitas but i want to play them on psp

The DS had a fantastic library, the PSP had everyone else's library

forgot to reply to your suggestions. im not a big racing fan so i probably wont check out wipeout. im also not into cardgames

The DS
PSP's only strength was being the best piracy/emulation console, its actual games were mostly shoddy ports or mediocre spinoffs

The guy that had both.

for me, it's the PSP

but the DS won

The customer. Both systems had great libraries

PSP beat out the DS pretty solidly. But the 3DS BURIED both.

im not against racing games, im just not a fan. ive played the ps4 wipeout in vr and had fun but i wasnt into the anti gravity racing. ill write this game down though thanks

Honestly, given my CFW PSP and my DS with a flash card full of games, I spent more time playing the PSP.
My PSP spent a bunch of time emulating Genesis games, a bunch of PS1 shit, and then I still played actual PSP releases like the Wipeouts, Ridge Racer 2, Burnout, Crazy Taxi (the port is graphically scewy, has a few oddities with customer targets, and changes the music, but it plays just fine and it supports custom soundtracks), God Eater, Katamari (bit awkward, but playable), Outrun 2006, Split/Second, the Ys games, GTA, etc. Loads of good shit.

>it's jailbreaking benefits were far and above the psp.
You fucking what?
A slower machine with less homebrew and worse emulators was far and above the PSP?
I'll concede that the DS library had more good games overall, but damn.

part of me wants to say you're crazy, but the Vita (at least, the 1000 -- I've never held a 2000 in my life) has tiny face buttons which makes playing Project Diva a bit annoying

shame about the PSP build quality though
my Vita feels like a god damn luxury item vs my PSP 2000 (which has screen issues now)

i bought the psp 3000 which is supposdly better than 2000 and 1000. im just a big fan of the playstation portables. i own both slim and fat vitas but the buttons feel very stiff especially compared to the ds4. ive never owned a psp so im honestly excited to learn claw.

Remember to pull the battery out of your old electronics.
Lithium batteries are like a woman, they bloat as they get older.

DS. Yes it was gimmicky and weaker than the PSP, but it got the better games, not to mention UMDs held the PSP back and convinced people to pirate games instead of buying them

god, UMD was so bad
even games I owned, I ended up dumping them just because you'd get something like 1/3rd the load time running from the memory card

is there a psp Zig Forums recommended list like the 3ds one?

Still play psp. Playing ff vii, complete persona 1,2 is, suikoden, rapsody,

in sales the DS in quality the PSP

Me.
Have both. Love both.

Hey guys. WHAT IF WE COMBINE THEM?! DSP! (DUAL SCREEN PORTABLE)

idorts who had both.

sup reddit

what retard?

I had both and jailbroke both. Shit was so cash. Lost my PSP in Afghanistan, then had to buy a Vita so I could play Hot Shots Golf in my tent after missions.

what psp games were your favorite

that isometric Killzone game
WipeOut
Hot Shots Golf
Dissidia
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus

I also remember:
Class of Heroes
God of War: Chains of Olympus

I had the classic ones like Patapon and Monster Hunter but I couldn't get into them.
