Send Phil a letter, user.
>platinum

Sad.
Would it even have been good?
Nintendo turned down Scalebound and funded the Wonderful 101 instead, which is saying a lot.
Why tho? I thou Phil was all about the geames
so it can get canned a second time?
Why?
the game was clearly fucking garbage and unfocused, let it die.
Looking at the output of Xbox games this gen, the fact they cancelled this and still released crap like Crackdown 3 tells me this game was probably shit. Also Platinum was using the MS money on other projects without their knowledge or consent which didn’t help.
Why? When was there even any information about what this game was? As far as I understand it was only ever the "platinum" game which despite their few hits, they're hardly a studio that infallibly puts out good games.
Yeah, I feel a lot of people only look to the Metal Gear Rising’s and Bayonetta’s and forget games like Legend of Korra and Astral Chain
Crackdown 3 still got pushed out even though its development was absolutely fucked by wasting about 4 years on DA CLOUD, and the less said about how Sea of Thieves was at launch the better, so the fact that Scalebound got canceled doesn't look good. Not to mention they're dragging their feet like hell nowadays, as Bayonetta 3 is still completely MIA after three years and they practically lost their deal with Cygames for GBF:Relink last year. With all things considered, there's probably no way they'll ever work together unless Platinum is bought up to join Xbox's growing Borg collective of studios.
They should fund Itagaki instead
They may as well be japan's Tim Schaffer.
no. Everyone likes to blame publishers cause they are big bad money grubbers. But honestly they would have to see an absolute shit product at that point. And a platform holder is probably willing to lose money on a game for good graces/ selling people into the ecosystem. So if Phil saw steaming shit, it couldn't have just been unprofitable bad. But likely xbox brand damaging bad.
I still remember that multiplayer segment they showed and it was probably the most uninspired and bland shit ever
it loooks pretty bad honestly
It looked like shit.
>BUT BASED KAMIYA
Let it go.
>Astral Chain
Based. What a bland game. Would have been a lot better had they actually tried to hit 60fps rather than going for le cinematic framerate
>But likely xbox brand damaging bad.
How? There is no way it could have been that bad
It didn't look good tho
>how
many ways. 1 being vaporware. As the game get delayed and delayed hype
builds until it comes out as incredibly meh.
2 just it being that bad
>no waybit could have been that bad
why not? crackdown borderline was. Kamiya was a bit over his head with his ambitions for this game I think.
They literally cancelled every exclusive game they had lined up except for Forza, Gears and Halo
Or crackdown, or sea of thieves.
So literally just this and some fable spinoff that never got off the ground.
maybe they shouldn't have partnered with fucking Kamiya of all people if they wanted a shitty multiplayer game that they were going to force to go their way
Forgot Crackdown 3 happened. That was probably one of Microsoft's biggest embarrassments ever.
The entire project was Kamiyas idea. allegedly his passion project/greatest ambition. Probably the reason it was DOA. shit like that never ends well.
I forgot Crackdown even came out, and Sea of Thieves was bare bones af when it released. Also Phantom Dust was a straight up lie
the basic idea was his, then M$ forced them to change a bunch of shit like the multiplayer focused garbage
why dont we actually just do it? even if it turns out to be shit i'd be happy to see this released anyway
looked like garbage anyway
> Sea of Thieves was bare bones af when it released
it's still barebones
