3ds piracy

What is the best way to get 3ds roms? I tried zipperto but half of the roms seem to be patched and mislabeled.
I'm not looking for the most complete database, it's alright if it only has the top 100 games or something, they just have to be clean roms.
also, is there any use for the neat qr download feature on the fbi menu? would be great to download and install that way.

>google "game" + "qr"
>find one that looks like it might be your region (e.g. esrb rating on the cover for U.S.) or not it doesn't really matter
>scan qr in fbi
ez
don't install update qr codes though, on modern cfw you can just update out-of-date games normally through the homescreen's eshop updater

Remembering fondly Nintendo Handheld General.
Aborted too early. Died peacefully. Did not receive George Floyd treatment...

you can only do that for games in your region and it doesn't work for eshop only games.

Have fun corrupting your SD card doing that lol.
I'm not trusting any of those QR stuff.

>Wow, QR codes are scary!
>I totally trust these unsigned .cias from YOURGAMES4FREE.xyz

And what's wrong with patched or unclean roms? Will they not work? I assume they work, right? Never had problems with Ziperto...

Just decrypt the roms it takes like 2 minutes lol.

And again, what's the difference between uncrypted and decrypted if they work either way?

I trust more your Russian porno website letting me download cias than random QR code on google image.
And yes, there are actually stories about QR crap corrupting SDs. But have it your way.
Also have fun downloading the games for hours and hours. That shit is slow af.

>tfw all those Neo Geo and Capcom Arcade injects from 3DSISO are lost

you do realize a qr code is just a link to a cia
of course a cia can do whatever it wants to your 3ds but a qr code can't do more than any other cia can. It's just a link to a cia.
use fbalpha neogeo & cps2

that's pretty neat, although most of the problem is making sure there is no patching done to it (I have had a lot of complications from this in the past, lost many hours) most retro systems have complete romsets like this, hopefully 3ds will in the future

Fuck i hate using the Retroarch UI but whatever it takes i guess

>a link to a cia
Not him but isn't this the point? I wouldn't trust a cia unless I trust the site that it came from. Google's image search seems like a great way to brick your 3DS

it's nice if you use rgui with the aspect ratio set to fill the screen and change the color from that shitty green to something else like atomic purple
bonus points for enabling the starfield background for the overlay

I am using real hardware, I am trying to avoid decrypted (modified) roms

yeah, I understand why no full database of uncompressed cia files exists just for the qr code method, but I wish FBI had support for uncompressing the files and installing them

they work...
most of the time.
it just sucks when you find that a given multiplayer feature doesn't work with other unmodified instances of the game, once you have invested many hours into a save, and the save is incompatible with unmodified instances of the game. or a save data corruption glitch. or simply not working with a patch you want to install.
anyway, I recommend no-intro since they make sure they're clean.

3ds has retroarch?

3dscia.to/

But those are all encrypted...so what gives? Is that still good? Why should we want encrypted or decrypted? What's the difference?

>neat qr download feature on the fbi menu
Why would you use that? It's slow as shit, just use custom-install and install CIAs directly to SD card

if you are playing on an actual 3ds you should use encrypted, to avoid an error I mentioned
if you are playing in citra emulator you have to use decrypted
I don't really get the point of ds/3ds emulators, its never as good as the real thing unlike stationary consoles or handhelds without a touchscreen

I have a new 3ds

Hm? I don't understand, does it matter if it's new or old 3ds?

You could just make your own.

Actually not that bad on phone

I need to use a screwdriver to take off the backplate any time I want to take out the micro sd card

The ROM center google docs document was removed a few months ago, but you can still retrieve it via Web archive:
