> "[Dynasty Warriors 9’s] system itself doesn’t fit Xtreme Legends, so there are no plans for a Dynasty Warriors 9: Xtreme Legends.”
>Dynasty Warriors 9 was not received well by people who expected a usual Warriors/Musou game. And while there have been strong criticisms, there are also voices of praises. I think we may have derived and broadened our range too much on the challenge.”
>“Perhaps the Open World system won’t be adopted in future numbered titles, but it is the best method to pull out the appeal of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Although I still don’t know yet what kind of title it will be like, I want to try making it once more.”
>“Although it’s just my own personal opinion, I think such a route like Dynasty Warriors 9-II would also be possible.”
>“I hope we can announce the 20th anniversary celebration titles soon. By the way, there is not just one title to celebrate it.”
>“The live-action movie is already done and I watched the advance screening. It’s a wonderful movie and is totally a Musou.”
Is the movie going to be available in small-town Canada?
Jason Price
Open world can work, but the problem is Koei Tecmo is incompetent as fuck. There were some good things about DW 9, but they were just overshadowed by their inability to program themselves out of a wet paper bag
Joshua Ortiz
>Dynasty Warriors 9’s system itself doesn’t fit Xtreme Legends, so there are no plans for a Dynasty Warriors 9: Xtreme Legends Yeah but it fits the Empire expansions. Biggest problem with 9 was that it was barren and anemic in content. Maybe if they weren't so greedy they would've pulled it off.
I want play Zhang He at his time in Yuan Shao amy.
Hudson Stewart
DW9 Empires it's a very finnicky idea
Kevin Smith
He also served as a guy named Han Fu during the Yellow Turban rebellion before fighting for Yuan Shao
Owen White
Well, props to them for recognizing DW9 wasn't well executed, Omega Force simply does not have the expertise to make a open world game that feels worthwhile, it really is a lesson for developers who think open worlds automatically equals perfection, you gotta have heavy talented personnel with a budget to match to make it good.
Jaxson Bell
Pang De need more time.
Daniel Allen
>there are also voices of praises ... wat?
Isaiah Perez
>I hope we can announce the 20th anniversary celebration titles soon.
so the news is that there will be news soon? fuck off
Jordan Reed
they're coping
Josiah Russell
PR talk, you can't fully admit total failure, although I do recall some blind DW followers defending DW9 after a few updates.
Christian Adams
I really don't play these games but I would buy the fuck out of a Sonic musou.
>multiple titles What makes them think it's a good idea to produce multiple games at once when they can't even make a single good game with the same resources?
Matthew White
If by "small-town Canada" you mean a 4 hour drive from the CN tower like half the fucking rural Canadians on this board, sure. If by "small-town Canada" you mean a town with Canadian Groceries, no.
Angel Cox
it's the only news about dynasty warriors that should matter
They could have just made more interesting levels. Instead they did open world bullshit. Very incompetent developers.
Nolan Baker
Yes please.
Adam Ward
>“Perhaps the Open World system won’t be adopted in future numbered titles, but it is the best method to pull out the appeal of Romance of the Three Kingdoms. Although I still don’t know yet what kind of title it will be like, I want to try making it once more.” So they won't completely drop it like they did with stuff from DW6 and actually try to improve it next time.
Good, admitting DW9 was a disgrace is the first step, just follow on what DW8 started, same gameplay, same fapbait designs, more hypothetical scenarios, and there you have it a good DW game.
i wish they would stop trying to innovate and just give us more stages, characters, and non-dlc costumes
musou fans know exactly what we're getting with each title, we just want more of it without bullshit
Julian Butler
DW9 have hypothetical scenarios.I love DW9 hypothetical scenarios
Luke Wright
see
Benjamin Turner
your picture implies you're trolling but that's exactly what i want
Logan Morales
>The Jin empire was a mistake t. Cao Mao
Sebastian Morgan
I'm not asking for much
Cameron James
>no plans for a Dynasty Warriors 9: Xtreme Legends >such a route like Dynasty Warriors 9-II would also be possible But SW 4-II was exactly like Xtreme Legends, just worse.
Maybe they're talking about people liking the waifus and husbandos.
Evan Smith
hyrule warriors 2 would be nice and another ken's rage thank you
Adam Torres
by saying numbered titles, he means open worlds will no longer be a thing on mainline games, it might happen in spinoffs, where criticisms won't be as damaging to the brand.
Liam Diaz
>DW9 Empires >Even more advanced Create an Officer mode >Add some more depth, tactics and complexity to empire management >Add siege equipment (proper stuff that actually affects the flow of battle) >sell gorillions
Jose King
Jin in concept was fine as it gives more opportunities for post-Wu Zhang plain battles. They just need to make characters (especially for Wu) that took part in the final few battles and for Jin for add characters that weren't even associated with Sima Shi or Zhao in any way whatsoever and whose story ends even before the Jin stuff even kicks in. Pic very related.
dynasty warriors is like mystery dungeon: the formula really shines when it's applied to other IPs. i agree, i'd be interested to play a sonic musou. a kirby musou would be even better.
Isaiah Bailey
They're basically just announcing that they'll repackage 9 with all the DLCs and resell it as 9-II
Ayden Harris
>9 was a mistake >The Jin empire was a mistake But Xiahou Ba and Wen Yang are great.
Jaxon Thomas
playing as knuckle joe and bugzzy would the tight as shit
Matthew Sullivan
I like how you're attempting to form an argument but you try to stay as vague as possible because you don't know what you're saying. You can't even go into detail about their inability to program and how that's related to open world. You call them incompetent without explaining the list of things that make them incompetent. You don't have an argument but you want to feel intelligent and engage in the discussion to look cool.
