second hand embarrassment
how do I choose a username if I constantly want to be or at least feel somewhat anonymous? I have a simple username that I've been using for years but if I google it now I keep finding some cringy ancient forum posts I wrote as a kid which I can't delete. Only new usernames I started using could still be traced back to at least my steam account or something
>come up with a username
>change it
>come up with a username
>change it
>repeat 8 times until I finally have a username I like
>other people use it quite often
>play singleplayer game
>enter your name
>type "farts"
>name contains illegal words or characters
This is how you know it's good.
>enter username Nik Gur
>username taken
Every time.

If it's multiplayer I recommend using something female sounding. People will react to you more kind and forgiving that way.
>Darko
What pisses me off is that I changed it years ago but everyone in my group of friends still calls me that

>Not having a couple kind of strange but largely meaningless usernames you use for anything
Like 15 years ago I just slapped the keyboard a couple times and added vowels. It's a weird name but nothing impossible to pronounce and is easy to recognize. Fucking nobody is going to come up with it on their own though. Any game I play or website I sign up with always accepts the name.
Bonus, if I'm signing up for something and it says "This name is taken" I know it's me and I just forgot about it. Passwords aren't a problem either because they are unique to every website but easy to remember. This isn't my exact system but it's similar.
>Make an easy to remember short sentence.
>I like [blank]
>Fill in the blank with the first 4 characters of the website URL
>Password is "1Like" url, so you have both a number, capital letter, and 9 characters. If this was bestbuy.com the password is "1Likebest"
Now I fucking dare you to try to forget this. Three years down the line, even if you don't adopt a system like this, you will remember this post and remember "i like bestbuy" and you'll remember the rules for the password.
Have maybe two systems set up. Some websites need longer or shorter passwords. Some websites ask you to change your password after shit happens. Stick to the system, change one thing.
>Hey, our bestbuy servers were hacked. Please change your password
>"1LoveBest"
Now if your old login is forgotten it's easy to recover. You remember your password system. "1Likebest" login failed. That must mean you changed your password "1LoveBest" and you're in.
Just remember, short and sweet sentences are WAY easier to remember then a 10 character string of random letters, capitals, numbers, and symbols.

what's wrong with that, it's a normal slav name
>favorite username i use for literally everything has never been taken anywhere i use it
>only six letters long, no numbers
feels good
>mfw I couldn't name my horse in RDR2 after some Greek deity because part of the name was slang for dong in some foreign lanuage

>Don't know how at all, but whatever
>Use it as my username for pretty much anything for years as it's never taken
>One day for some reasons feel like googling it
>There's only 2 results about it
>One of them being the remnants of a french newspapers featuring a story about a serial killer with the same name as mine
