>As of June 30, the latest instalment has sold some 2.7m units after nearly three months of sales, Capcom said on Monday.
>The figure marks a significant 55% decline from Resident Evil 2’s two-month launch sales of 4.2 million and a 30% decline from Resident Evil 7’s two-month launch sales of 3.5m.
>According to Capcom’s sales data, this year it’s sold almost double the number of back catalogue Resident Evil titles than copies of Resident Evil 3.

What went wrong?

THE CRACKS ARE STARTING TO SHOW

The demo had too many zombies that you couldn’t escape or had to constantly do a perfectly timed dodge. Is those are the mechanics for the whole game then it’s not fun

Its way too short. There is little reason to play through it again as well. I thought it was a good game, there just wasnt enough of it. The tacked on mp isnt enough to make up for it either, even if it has a couple diehards that still play.

Capcom trying too hard to make Resident Evil a milked annual franchise so they rushed this out the door and it ended up a short janky mess that cut out more content then it added

I can't wait for the RE4 remake to be 5 hours long and have 2/3rds the game missing

it was a worse remake than 2 was

If they dont fuck up RE8 because of that i am ok with it.let the REmake Idea bomb already soo they start actually doing REv games again.

Good, hopefully this will discourage them from outsourcing and cutting corners in the future

it was genuinely shit

Also Capcom fell for the $60 meme. Not a good price at all for what the game offers. Should have been $30 or $40. Re3 was not very popular among RE fans back then either, so that could also have something to do with it.

Does this game end the Capcom Redemption Arc? Or was that a meme by shills?

>shit assetflip cashgrab with a lootbox delivery mechanism (coop/Assymetric mp) NO ONE asked for
i'm glad it failed
hopefully they are smart enough to know why

>hopefully they are smart enough to know why
Knowing Capcom, they'll take it the wrong way

Too many people were (rightfully) trashing it for being too short and cutting too many classic locations. All the changes in the story and the cut locations reveal a lack of respect for the original property, and people picked up on that.

Makes me nervous for the future of the RE4 remake, since it's got the same team working on it.

>a 30% decline from Resident Evil 7’s two-month launch sales of 3.5m
Ethan chads just keep winning

>hopefully they are smart enough to know why
Capcom tried to sell people DMC2 on its own in the same year DMC5 came out, they're not

This is just a bump in the road RE8 will be pure kino

Will it be the new savior, AGAIN?

Shill detected

too short, too expensive, changed the characters too much, DLC, etc.

it'll eventually hit the sales numbers but it's going to take some hefty discounts. Honestly I wouldn't buy it for more than $5

>cut content
>no buy

Of course

>Betray Nintendo and their fans
>Sales start cratering
How about that?

Nemesis fucking sucked.

Everyone said it was short and significantly worse than 2 so I didn't buy it

Fuck off falseflagger

It wasnt bad game, but it was short and clearly half assed. They finally had one last chance to redeem RE3 and they blew it. They deserve the lose money.

>Shill notices dip in sales so start falseflagging as a Nintendo fan to deflect criticism
not this time

What is this historical revisionism? RE3 was one of the most popular game in the series that is why Nemesis keeps getting cameos and action figures decades after its release. Then Crapcom fucked up the remake by choosing an outside developer.

Sounds like you guys didnt play the game. ill educate you
First chapter of the game was perfect, It felt like a modern take on classic RE3
And that was the only good part. After that the pacing, writing, boss fights, general gameplay all turned to shit as the B-Team behind this games development took it in their own hands to completely make a new game instead of remake it past the first chapter

>there are people out there who bought this game at full price
those poor gullible souls

>First chapter of the game was perfect, It felt like a modern take on classic RE3
>15mins long cutscene where you only press forward to escape from nemesis
what did he mean by this?

>implying RE3 needed to be redeemed

Ima big horror fan but only ever played the original re2 and re5

how based? based eh

Is paying full price for this better or worse than that time my friend bought No Man's Sky at launch?

The city section, from the moment you exit the subway to just before you enter the sewers, was all fantastic. It's the rest of the game that was disappointing.

It was a short, shitty asset flip of 2 that totally fails to stand up against 1, 2 or 4.

In that sense the remake was faithful.

unbased

at least NMS had several free dlcs to compensate
re3r desperately needs mercs mode and an expanded raccoon city to explore

desu I'm waiting for it to go for like $20

Exaggeration. It was ok at most.

Hopefully this means they won't ruin RE4 with """"""modernized"""""" controls

It was better than most of RE2.
