For such a landmark JRPG, this game has zero replay value. In fact it doesn't have any first-play value. By the time you're halfway done, you're just wishing for it to be over already so you can go play something else. A real JRPG, a real game.

I had never actally finished 7 when it came out, I just played a few hours of it at a friend's house, so I actually bought and finished it last week. It was pretty good but it was shorter than I was expecting, and while presonal preference is a thing I can't imagine anyone who would think aerith was more of a thing than tifa, even if you ignore her dying cloud talks about and goes through a lot more shit with her.
Against my better judgment I figured I should give "Remake" a fair shot, so I'm doing that.

I played a third time, normal mode from the beginning with no items and no benches. It was surprisingly fun and hard, not to mention that i learnt more mechanics and gimmicks from bosses.

Terra Battle 1 was good, but they IMMEDIATELY abandoned it after release and the entire catastrophe that was 2 certainly didn't help.
No wonder I liked it so much.
