Ya know way back in like 2004 or 2003 whichever it was that first required me to have this online "I paid for my shit" cop to allow me to play my own property. .back then that shit pissed me the fuck off and I fought it tooth and nail. The Orange Box was the first physical disk game I bought that required me to be online and signed in to play something I fucking paid for at a store. I thought there's no way this will last or catch on, this is absurd..Then I got complacent and here we are.
I have 200+ games that I can't fucking play right now because someone's servers are down. I bought every single one of them fair and square but I can't touch them because someone's IT sucks.

I'm ordering a big ass NAS to hold a backup of every fucking game I got. This is the 2nd time in two days. It went down yesterday too. They need to provide a Steam independent method of offline installation of Steam backups for the inevitability that Valve fucking croaks.
