It’s time for Zig Forums to admit it was a a great game.
3D World is Great
it was basically 3d land with longer levels but a hilariously broken power up that the game shoves down your throat and ends up ruining the game if you keep using it
I always loved it. Been hoping for a sequel.
Always thought it was it. I'd go as far as to say it's the best 3D Mario, aside from being a little soulless as gameplay was obviously the focal point with everything else coming second.
>Broken powerup that it forces down your throat that ruins the game
So it lives up to its Mario World legacy.
3D World was a little soulless because the levels were built with 4 players in mind. 3D Land was a much tighter experience.
I never said it was bad
>Having friends play with you
>Souless
Sounds like Zig Forums alright
No. The best thing I can say about it is that it is a better game than 3d land, and 3d land was shit.
It was pretty easy for a while. Champion's Road was so much fun though.
Did you finish 3D Land? The first 8 worlds were just the tutorial.
3D Land was the soulless one though. I don’t think it had an original idea in its body.
>Let's just Take 3D Land and make it coop
It's a good game, but Nintendo deserved all the shit they got for realasing the most unorignal title as their MAIN 3D mario console title. It would've been more respected if it was more looked at as a spin off
It's better than Shityssey
It was soulless and easy too short and easy.
3D World is fantastic. Focused level designs with emphasis on self-contained challenges and which encourages masterful play. It's 2D Super Mario but translated to 3D. It's literally everything I always wanted Mario to be in 3D. I was never a fan of the sandbox collect-a-thon meme. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was a step in the right direction with it's linear, focused level designs. 3D Land, albeit poor and flawed, was the next logical step. 3D World refined and polished 3D Land's formula to very fine powder, making it one of the best Super Mario titles to date. Oh yeah, and the multiplayer is mad fun!
Ive always said it was good. Exploring levels is so much fun and theres a lot of level variety
my one complaint would be how the late levels all revolve around chasing clocks to extend the timer
The multiplayer is amazing fun especially if you've had a few drinks, I played with my GF and we were screaming
What are you talking about? I never played the game ...
Kind of unfair to call it unoriginal. While obviously a successor 3D Land, World has lots of unique ideas and uses them all in clever ways without overusing them.
Mario Galaxy 2 is far more "unoriginal" in terms of content but it was still perfectly executed as well.
3D Land is more of a tech demo for 3D World, which has way more content and character than it.
Absolutely based. I love 3D Mario under 64/Sunshine/Galaxy, but 3D World is the best of both.
Yup! We were taking turns playing with friends on New Year's Eve of that year powered by snacks and booze. It was a blast! The most fun I had playing a local multiplayer game in a long time.
I put this game off for the longest time because Land was boring.
This post sounds like it was ripped directly from reddit, I'll allow it though since the game is so fun. Just make sure not to be such a faggot again.
>Having fun is reddit
Jesus.
A lot of the "original level ideas" were either ripped from the Galaxy Games or just straight up reddit (OMG Mario Kart theme level, for example). On top of that, 3D World has the most predictable, student-tier level design of any Mario game. Yes, it's good to introduce a new mechanic in a safe setting and then build on it, but the way 3D World does it is overly formulaic - it never actually combines one level's idea with another's, for example. It's bland and safe as fuck.
It's the Yup! That really gives it away.
I can see the upvote arrow with 70 likes right now.
And I say this as a huge fan of the overall goal of 3D Land and 3D World - and 3D World gets in right sometimes (1-1 and 1-2 are free of the overly formulaic level design and are just fun as fuck) but 3D Land is like that for the whole game.
What you say is 100% true but that's why I respect the game. You get one type of level and then later on you get a harder version of that level and then that's it. It doesn't fall into the trap of reusing the same ideas over and over until you're sick of them.
It's the same kind of design Portal had.
If 3D World is so great, why did they wait until the Switch was at the end of its lifecycle to re release it?
>Unironically using reddit to describe the fun Mario Kart level.
Also, weren’t their levels tat combined the shadow and piranha plant gameplay?
Also how is using gimmicks that build off each other “student tier”? Yeah I guess good level design is something a student should learn
Are you just throwing buzzwords together?
