What really sucks is the guy who made the most gamey games out there: Virtua Cop, Virtua Fighter, Space Harrier etc. fell hard for the "games as a cinematic experience" so hard. Perhaps he should try making another game that is actually enjoyable to play instead of another chapter in his martial-arts themed soap opera.

Shenmue 3 takes 25 hours to beat according to How Long to Beat. You can tell a story of a guy getting strong enough to fight other guy in that time.
Sekiro and Metal Gear Rising also pit you against an unbeatable opponent you overcome by the end of the game. Sekiro is 28 hours, MGR is 7. It's not rocket science, it has been done before.
Is the game supposed to take as long as it would take in real life to become a martial arts master or something?
