Penitent one in silence how goes your new game+

is this game good? i didnt like salt and sanctuary or dead incels.
It's nothing like those games.
I just got the game. Really enjoying it so far, but thinking of restarting my save file. I apparently messed up a timed quest and my autism won’t let me go on.
What timed quest? I'm about to start playing for first time and dont want to miss it.
It goes that I had the game on GOG and they still haven't bothered bestowing the update onto us or giving us any sort of time frame or even explanation as to why the fuck it would take so long when it's already out on Steam.
So, preparing myself for when it does come out: should I bother 100% the base game before going NG+? Does any of the completion carry over so I can just do the missing bits there? I'm only missing like a couple of babies I think, I even had the suspicion there was a bug involved because by the end I resorted to a guide and I couldn't find the last one(s?). Yes I already have the thing that lets you fall.
I really wanted to play this game but at the same time I dont want to support anti christan devs.
>Does any of the completion carry over so I can just do the missing bits there?
The things that carry over are
>Rosary beads items (but not knots which you need to reacquire) save quest ones like the pearl
>Sword hearts and upgrades
>Prayers
>Movement relics
>Cherubs acquired (I maxed out at 38 but all respawned in NG+ so you might be able to fill it up if you missed some)
Everything else including health/fervor upgrades you have to reacquire per NG+.
>how goes your new game+
I deleted my save file and started a new game because I finished it on release and I wasn't sure if the higher difficulty would fuck me over. Turns out they made the game easier with the patches and now it's a bit too easy but I'm still having fun. The atmosphere and art direction is one of the best of the last decade and I'm glad they improved the gameplay to match them.
Aside from the tone and presentation it's less souls-y than S&S, even slightly less than Hollow Knight.
I really enjoyed it despite a few quibbles, but from the opinions I've seen around it seems like the kind of game that you'll have to try out for yourself to see whether you like it. There are things that certain people really get hung up on, and while I didn't exactly enjoy them I didn't find them to be so egregious.
I see, thanks. Do you need to overwrite your regular save when you start NG+? Also, is it an option in the main menu, or do you have to beat the final boss again?
More than half the bosses are still so fucking boring to fight.
The final DLC boss better be worth it.
kino
lmao good one m8
That reminded me of the Dwarf Fortress difficulty curve cliff
It's an option in the main menu if you already have a completed save file, but it does overwrite your save for a new NG+ file yes.
Finished all penances for the ultimate reward of nothing.
I beat it months ago and i can't be assed for more of the same shit
I'm not Catholic enough to understand this game and its lore
>but it does overwrite your save for a new NG+ file yes.
I kinda wish it didn't, but oh well.
>can't skip end credits
I wanted to re-play to see the other endings but that pretentious faggotry made me uninstall.
but you can? at least on controller you just hold the jump button
without spoilers do the mountain first, there's a guy stuck in a tree there.
if you do any bosses before the one on the mountain he dies before you can get to him locking you out of a small part of the map.
pretty sure this was fixed a while ago but it's better to be safe
>heart "penance"
>game actually ends up easier since you can make use of all the shitty -def +atk hearts and beads
also lifesteal is absolutely busted with this on
>at least on controller you just hold the jump button
I played at launch and you couldn't skip it back then, it was even more infuriating after seeing /tg/ and /vr/ on the bakers list
how long is the DLC content?
fairly dissapointing
it's literally just 5 bosses
it's mostly just a quality of life update finally a way to upgrade flasks, some new small areas/prayers and beads. new game plus with the penance system is also pretty fun
When does it stop being a clunky, boring slog?
I don't think it is an antichristian game. Old catholicism is very different from whatever walmart value brand christianism americans have.
Those 5 bosses are better than any metroidvania bosses ever made.
>Not playing in Spanish
The DLC isnt even out in Japan yet so I cant play it.
I plan to do that on NG+. That said Deogracias' VA is probably the best in the game.
youtube.com
>can't play the DLC without being on new game +
>new game + makes the game fucking tedious and boring with how much health enemies have, even the basic shitty shield guys need 2 parry and counter to kill
soiled, deleted it barely making it into olive withers because of how fucking grindy making progress now is.
I'm catholic and I liked it. It doesn't really make fun of it, but rather just uses it for the aesthetic of the game. It's a very "emo" game, so prepare for a lot of grieving dialogue if you want to play it. It reminded me more of the guy that made Neon Genisis Evangelion, where it made it seem like angels are the true bad guys. And in an interview he said something like "I just used Christian symbolism and art because it looks cool."
that's clearly córdoba's mezquita
More like the only good one in the game.
Seriously the English voices were awful
>Those 5 bosses are better than any metroidvania bosses ever made.
lmao
The fifth boss is literally just the first four bosses mashed together in the most boring way possible.
How do you fight Nacimiento? You see it in the trailer.
The gameplay isn't really that fun. It's serviceable but it's not the kind of game I'd be willing to play through again.
Fantastic aesthetic though.
So, they did they add Spanish voices?
