God damn it Zig Forums. I can't believe I bought into the propaganda.
I played this game. People said that the first few hours are awful, gotta give it time.
Ok, so I put up with the unbearable first few hours. Thought it would get better around end-game.
Turns out this game is shit through and through. There are just so many god damn things I hate about it I don't even know where to start. It's just ... shit, everything about it.
Haven't been so pissed about wasting my hard-earned god damn money since I pissed away my cash on my EX gf.
The combat...is awful. Much like all the other usual suspects in the past, it just feels clunky. It's one of those things that are hard to put into words. It's just not as smooth and fluid as you'd like.
And not just the combat, but the movement and everything, it's all just very clunky and sluggish, feels horrible to play.
The UI and menus are also not that great. They just seem cheap and poorly made. Like the trade screens and buying in stores and all that, they're not smooth and efficient.
The graphics too, garbage.
And the content itself is a bore. The story is subjective, you either like it or you don't (Elves and fairies are CRINGE) but the gameplay is just not entertaining at all, I guess since the combat is garbage that's why. Bosses are too. music etc... suck too. Quests boring and simple. Basically, none of the content is good.
>The graphics too, garbage. >complaining about graphics on a 64 bit console Lol
Jaxon Phillips
When nintendiapers were busy playing only two games on the shitendo64, us PS1 CHADS were having a megablast with fucking metal gear solid, silent hill and final fantasy 7.
>The combat...is awful. Much like all the other usual suspects in the past, it just feels clunky. It's one of those things that are hard to put into words. It's just not as smooth and fluid as you'd like. Can you go into detail how is it clunky? Keep in mind, you are playing a N64 game here. You weren’t born when this was release kid.
>And not just the combat, but the movement and everything, it's all just very clunky and sluggish, feels horrible to play. Again, can you elaborate?
>The UI and menus are also not that great. They just seem cheap and poorly made. In what way?
>Like the trade screens and buying in stores and all that, they're not smooth and efficient. There is no junk item or vendor trash. How is it not efficient?
>The graphics too, garbage. It’s an N64 game that is older than you.
>And the content itself is a bore. The story is subjective, you either like it or you don't I can understand your subjective opinion. I don’t agree with it, but I understand.
>(Elves and fairies are CRINGE) There are no elves in this game, unless you count the Zoras. Fairies are barely part of the story, except for Navi.
>but the gameplay is just not entertaining at all, I guess since the combat is garbage that's why. Bosses are too. music etc... suck too. Quests boring and simple Again, please elaborate.
>Can you go into detail how is it clunky? Keep in mind, you are playing a N64 game here. You weren’t born when this was release kid. When i input commands it clunks in a clunky manner.
>Again, can you elaborate? When in combat or moving and everything, it's clunking around in a very clunky manner.
>In what way? The way that they look, very poor and unimpressive and also clunky, very clunky.
>There is no junk item or vendor trash. How is it not efficient? It just feels very clunky.
>It’s an N64 game that is older than you. Yes but look at FF7 from the year prior, very unclunky with amazing pre-rendered backgrounds and the character animations weren't as clunky.
>I can understand your subjective opinion. I don’t agree with it, but I understand. Thank you. I find the story to be very clunky.
>There are no elves in this game, unless you count the Zoras. Fairies are barely part of the story, except for Navi. Just seems like very clunky races.
>Again, please elaborate. I found it to be very clunky which is not very entertaining as it's clunky.
Hudson Walker
Nah it's unironically one of the best games ever made and probably the best. You might be a zoomer who can't into zeitgeist, but if you possess a brain, just compare it to 1990s Tomb Raider and King's Field and even you should be able to see how incredibly far it was ahead of its time.
Jonathan Jackson
>he stopped from "subtly" trying to associate OoT with zoomer shit and started overtly shitposting it again
>Yes but look at FF7 from the year prior, very unclunky with amazing pre-rendered backgrounds and the character animations weren't as clunky. Jesus Christ, shoot yourself. FF7 is a 100% static RPG with as you said yourself prerendered backgrounds.
How dumb are you?
Aaron Adams
Clunky.
Brandon Green
Like hell FF7 wasn't clunky when it came out, having to walk around those environments with that D-Pad
Owen Flores
I doubt this. Obviously the visuals won't have aged well, but I still think it's a better game than 99% of the games that come out now.
bullshit, list them
Dominic Sanchez
This bait threads need to be banned.
Eli Williams
I fucking hate the internet.
William Brown
Games have changed a lot since this game came out. It’s old as fuck. People who say these early 3D games “haven’t aged a day” are delusional. That said I played OoT recently and still enjoyed it despite all the ways it showed its age. Your ability to go back to this era depends on what elements you struggle to go back to vs what you can adjust to. I find that of the people who actually bother to even play old 3D stuff everyone has different outdated things they can’t get passed. The best asset you have returning to these games is having played them when they were current because it takes the edge off the outdatedness.
Aiden Robinson
>just compare a game for kids to an old school dungeon crawler I bet you 10 bucks King's Field is more enjoyable.
Ryder Murphy
>I doubt this. You shouldn't be wielding your ignorance as some kind of objective standard, kid. The game was revolutionary when it came out, for reasons that you either ignore or dismiss.
Jason Sanders
You are correct, sir.
Jose Wilson
my point is it's still a good game, unlike sm64
Grayson Martinez
Pretending to be retarded is actually being retarded.
Chase Rogers
>People said that the first few hours are awful, gotta give it time. Should be obvious from this line alone.
? SM64 was arguably even more influential than OoT. Your subjective appreciation for any of these titles is very much irrelevant when we're talking about how they were the industry equivalent to a nuclear bomb going off.
Adrian Brooks
Pretending to be attracted to kids is actually being a pedo.
Jason Butler
Actually, all 3d Zelda games are shit and garbage. Except skyward sword
Cooper Perez
>influential stop trying to change the subject nigger I'm talking about whether it's good now or not
Dominic Morales
No ur clunky
Gavin Ross
Chose a better hobby than feigning retardation for onanistic self-amusement. It's cringe and it's actually retarded.
Evan White
>money why is nobody bringing this up? who the fuck dumps money on an old console and game when you can just emulate? fucking hell, dolphin is the best emulator of all time and oot got ported to gamecube. op is a retard, through and through.
David James
Pretending to kill people is actually being a murderer.
Mason Lewis
Many people still play and appreciate these titles to this day. The problem isn't the games or how well they aged. The problem is (You).
Don't play games that you don't like. But don't pretend to be some kind of inerrant barometer of objectivity.
Mason Rodriguez
Maclunky.
Daniel Long
There's quite a few games that have a bad start but then become way better, usually it's due to the "tutorial stage". KoTOR (or was it KoTOR2) is a great example of this
Jace Gutierrez
Yeah, I'm not saying that doesn't happen with some games. I can't imagine fucking anyone saying "the first few hours of OoT are awful but then it gets better". The first few hours of it are a very good introduction into the kind of game that it is.
David Williams
or even better, why not just play the remaster if dated visuals bother you?
Joseph Reyes
KotOR 2 has a bad start, it peaks at the absolute peak of Star Wars ludo, then promptly devolves into unfinished trash. It's a great game, even by modern standards it does so many things right it's mind boggling, but it's one heck of a janky ride.
