Read about f76 at release

If you like the Fallout universe then im sure youll both enjoy it, i havent played it since launch but might have to replay it some day, never thought i would tho. I believe it just got its 21st patch with a new end game boss being added in 2-3 weeks. The devs definitely care.

I played it at launch, it sucked, I tried to play it a few weeks ago and it still sucked, the graphics were awful with that weirdly blobby and patchy texturing, it was incredibly laggy and the enemy AI was still as fucked as it was when I first played it, I was able to just clear out a base of enemies by "stealthing" and shooting them all in the head as they just moved around awkwardly.

If this game has been fixed, I really don't know how.

Its better than Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 combined which might not mean much to Zig Forums but if you can stomach those FO's you will actually enjoy this one. Game uses your special points in almost every single quest, the questlines are VERY long if youre doing main ones, the map is fucking gigantic and I've had alot of fun exploring. I've put in 100 hours this summer and paid 20$ for it and have not encountered a single gamebreaking glitch. You have to actually earn special armor and weapons in long questlines.

The one downside is that if you know what perks and playsttyle you are investing into the game gets really easy after level 50. The only stuff you wont be able to solo are the end game wendigo and scorchqueen bosses.

I'd say for 20$ you will find mild enjoyment if you enjoy fallout in general. Its like a 75/100 game where FO3 was a 60 and FO4 was a 65.

it probably would have been great if the game was singleplayer, retconned all the scorched shit, and set it during the existence of all the factions

I dont see a problem with it. Im level 80 and never had problems with mtx or other players. Maybe you just hate fun.

It's fun but still has its kinks to iron out. Much better than at launch, which I honestly couldn't play for more than an hour. I picked it up and have pumped a few weeks into it.

If you like fallout you might like it. I'd recommend trying it out on game pass and seeing for yourself.

it is a single player game, just with other people playing it at the same time you are. usually only one or two people in the whole lobby bother with those public events. and when you enter a building at the same time as someone else you can't even see them.

but even assuming you forgive all this, the single worst flaw of the game makes it literally unplayable, and that's the constant delay on ALL actions in combat, so you'll fucking shoot a ghoul and they'll randomly take nearly a full second for the damage to register and kill them, and in that time they can hit you
this problem alone makes all the combat feel absolutely godawful compared to fallout 4 and renders the game unplayable

Guess it depends on your internet connection which is total bullshit dont get me wrong. I only use shotguns and melee and have not had this issue.

I only started playing it after the Wasterlanders update so I have no idea how trash it may have been at launch, but honestly I have way more fun in FO76 than 3/4. Firstly the card perk system means you have actual builds, and you can actually specialize in something rather than just being an ace at everything. The world is absolutely fucking packed with shit to explore, searching every nook and cranny is rewarded with items/gear/missions all the time. The open world is not just endless empty space, although there are some areas which are a bit bland, most have lots of content. And there is a bunch of other shit

>Base building is more expanded, more fun, and actually useful
>Crafting/upgrading is expanded
>Playing with others is fun, easy to find randoms to play with as well as compete against if you're into PvP
>More enemies and enemy variety than other FO games
>Can actually be challenging and not just a easy mode slog
>Lots of stat dialogue checks for the Wastelanders missions at least, your build matters here instead of the tripe that FO4 was

And a bunch of other shit. Basically 76 is just 3/4 but better and also online.

The amount of quests can get pretty overwhelming actually that it gets to the point where I cant pick what to do sometimes. They did a good job rewarding exploration no doubt.

Yeah I found it was better to just focus on one specific thing I would want to do, like finding and doing all the enclave missions. You can get sidetracked easily.
