Combat is shit

>combat is shit
that's okay it's an RPG the combat doesn't need to be good
>writing is shit with lifeless loredumps everywhere
okay... maybe the quests will be good...
>the vast majority are the equivalent of a Skyrim radiant quest and the 1% that aren't are boring trite with no either no choices or a binary choice that doesn't matter in any way whatsoever
maybe it's supposed to be an immersive sim type experience...
>NPC's don't have any schedules to speak of, they stand in one spot 24/7 and have repeating dialogue throughout multiple characters. Guards won't even come to help you if someone or something is chasing you.
ok... maybe the main questline is alright...
>one ending, your choices don't matter in the slightest
oh... why was this recommended to me again?

Because it has soul, you wouldn't understand.

I completely understand what nostalgia is , I just expect people to look past it when recommending games to others instead of letting it blind them.

>omits the biggest plus
The world and exploration are good.

I thought you were done making these threads.
Why won't you tell everyone how much you loved Skyrim any more?

>world
boring generic meadows and swamps with a few uninteresting cities with either generic mudbrick architecture or generic castles. the rest of the biomes are just swapped ground textures.
>exploring
you move at the pace of a snail and stamina regeneration is slow as hell, and you need stamina for combat so that bar has to be high at all times
it's supposed to be a roleplaying game not a walking simulator

youtu.be/Whz-LQlbI-U

>why was this recommended to me again?
Because
1) The world building is amazing
2) There's a strong "show don't tell" mentality which is great
3) the story is good
4) I disagree with you saying the combat is shit, it's not (it's adequate and reflect well your character sheet, as it should be in a fucking ROLE PLAYING GAME)
5) There's very little handholding, the developpers acknowledge your free will, doesn't assusme you're a huge baby, and letting the player make mistake is okay
6) It's comfy as fuck
7) The slower pace is great and fits the freedom that the gave gives you fine
8) There's ton of great gameplay systems, such as spell crafting and alchemy, which are way superior to the more recent Elder Scrolls

You're just a retarded underage that think running from quest marker to quest marker and having all the step of yours quests spelled out in an objective list is the way to go.

Why do we have a morrowind thread EVERY FUCKING DAY. I’m starting to dislike this game...

thanks for demonstrating how the game world is tiny and the game is full of exploits

tiny game world is a plus zoomer fag

Your dopamine receptors are fried beyond repair, it certainly is not a recommended game for you m8

>oh... why was this recommended to me again?
Because in the eyes of experienced players, it's better than the sequels. Every subsequent title has stripped gameplay features and downsized the games, because each generation of consumer is that much dumber.
Not realizing this is gamebyro npc tier awareness.

It's the same schizo OP everytime.
I won't take arguments about the travel time from someone who only played 2 hours of the fucking game, faggot.
Surely by now you've had the Intervention/Guild teleport/Boat/Silt strider/Mark & Recall/Just flying around the damn map systems explained to you.

Tell these anons what you told me, about the Skyrim bandit caves having deep narrative and lore behind each and every one of them.

>boring generic meadows and swamps with a few uninteresting cities
What would you say is better?

one of the worst games ever. Zig Forums only likes it for gamer cred of liking a bad game.

Attached: 1595460801300.gif (720x586, 1.18M)

exciting non-generic meadows and swamps with a lot of interesting cities i bet.

I really wish TES would go back to the in-game fast travel systems that Morrowind had. Feels way better than just clicking on the map and magically appearing there. I had a mod that added something similar to Oblivion once but it was buggy as fuck and caused the game to crash whenever I used it

>writing is shit
Wrong. You didn't pay attention.
>the vast majority are the equivalent of a Skyrim
The vast amount of time you're doing basic grunt work for guilds. Skyrim fried your brain, not everything has to be an "epic" storyline with you at the center of everything.
>ok... maybe the main questline is alright...
>one ending, your choices don't matter in the slightest
These aren't contradictory. You're not even trying.
>oh... why was this recommended to me again?
Because whoever recommended it to you wasn't aware of how much of a 15 second attention span zoomer you are.

Such as?

>>/vrpg/

Why in god's name would you direct this madman to that undefiled board?

Im just making fun of his arguments man.

>The world building is amazing
It's delivered through loredumps. Should have been a sourcebook.
>There's a strong "show don't tell" mentality which is great
The massive loredumps would disagree with you. This is just a straight up lie on your part. 90% of the world building and lore aren't actually present in the game but are told to you via loredumps.
>the story is good
great argument. allow me to refute it with "the story is bad", I can do this all day
>combat is good because has dicerolls and numbers
no, a combat system that consists only of mashing LPM as fast as possible while vaguely looking in the direction of your foe is not a good system, and no matter how much you will cope by pretending people just don't get the oh so deep combat system of mashing leftclick, it will still be shit. and this isn't even about miss chances, which is another can of worms but at least that becomes irrelevant at higher levels, just like any semblance of difficulty
>There's very little handholding
99% of quests only have one outcome and one way of achieving said outcome. it's a case of the game being so simple it doesn't need any. even the "muh quest markers" shit is just pseuds thinking they're smart for finding a cave entrence where every dungeon and what have you is located very close to towns on a tiny map, so it's not like it's actually hard.
>comfy
nice buzzword faggot
>slower pace
yeah literally, your character is slow as a fly in a tar pit. you mean boring.
>great gameplay systems
L M F A O
every systems in the game is either broken in some way or a bad idea. every single one. but you're probably going to tell me how unpatched exploits are a good thing.
>recent Elder Scrolls
you morrowniggers just have to ALWAYS compare your piece of shit janky mess to Skyrim because you know the game can't stand on it's own two feet. compare this to any other rpg and everyone sees it's shit, that's why you have to hide behind this very thick layer of cope

cope

>durr the game has fast travel
>but the exploration is so great
>but the fast travel tho
>but the exploration
see the problem?

>your character is slow as a fly in a tar pit
t. didn't play the game for more than a few hours

max your acrobatics and it's still slow

>You gentlemen just have to ALWAYS compare your wonderful game to Skyrim
You started it.
Why are you ashamed of your previous posts in your own threads?
Did you think no one would remember you saying that Skyrim was an immaculately created gem?
The problem here is your untreated mental illness.
People have already explained to you how both the existing fast travel AND the lack of mindless quick teleportation à la Sykrim improve the game.

>You started it.
where? show me the exact post ITT where I mentioned Skyrim you fucking schizo

nice ad hom btw almost like you know you're just a nostalgiafag

Just get the boots of blinding speed bro. Or even if you can't/don't want to use them there's always Alteration spells

Top fucking kek confirmed for not playing more than an hour. You’re an ADHD riddled zoomnigger who can’t play video games that don’t have a season pass and multiplayer. Kill yourself you shitposting retarded faggot

Nigger those posts were months ago.
That doesn't make them not you.

Also acrobatics doesn't govern movement speed you fucking retard.

>"no"
great argument.
>just get this one specific item from this one specific location
nice role-playing game faggot glad to know a new player has to look up meta information and do something very specific AND sacrifice a gear slot just to make the movement speed bearable
also doesn't work on furries and scalies

this just in: local nostalgiafag suffers an aneurism
schizophrenia

That's why I mentioned Alteration

>"it's bad"
great argumentation.

Tell them about how much you loved that Skyrim bandit cave with the dogfighting ring.

I love knowing that these threads have ruined a beloved game for you.
It's at least partial justice for the crimes you've committed here.

>hurr hurr Skyrim bad hurr durr
how about you ACTUALLY address the argument instead of extrapolating that Skyrim was mentioned therefore OP must be a diehard Skyrim fan, even thought the comparison shits on an aspect of Skyrim?
>ignores the part about boring loredumps
okay you're just pretending not to see arguments against your position, i see

Attached: schizophrenia-symptoms-mental-health-disease-signs-illustration-hallucination-delusion-bizzare-behavior-isolated-vector-142944309.jpg (800x553, 57.5K)

and what if you're not playing a mage or a mage that doesn't spec into this one specific school of magic?

It's a copypasta. The OP likely didn't write the original post

You can upgrade your
Athletics
Speed
Strength
Lower your carry weight
Use artifacts to perform any of the above functions

Literally no different than Oblivion

Even the flaws are perfect

Attached: 83448.gif (200x178, 784.76K)

If you find "loredumps" inherently boring, then you'd hate these things called "books." Nothing but words, as far as the eye can see.
They aren't "dumps" of any kind. They are cryptic, contradictory writings that you the player get to explore.
Yes, you can explore books, believe it or not.
Gosh, you were really eager to post that image, huh?
You should consider a Zig Forums pass to reduce your cooldown.

buy or make fortify speed/feather potions, pay some mage to make enchanted gear etc. There's a ton of solutions to this problem

OP was too lazy to write a new OP for today's thread, but it's still the same guy that wrote it originally.
Basically OP's post is spam.

You can minimax your character for movement speed and they'll still be slow.
You want to know what the differences are? In oblivion moving faster than walk-in doesn't drain stamina and by default you move faster

>99% of quests only have one outcome and one way of achieving said outcome. it's a case of the game being so simple it doesn't need any. even the "muh quest markers"
This hasn't anything to do with handholding, faggot. Morrowind low-level of hand-holding is the game not giving putting an elevator at the ground level of Telvanni tower. It's the game not always providing you with the spell, artifact or potion needed to complete your quests. It's the game letting you kill important characters. It's the game wrecking your face with high level monster in deadric ruins. It's the game not being afraid of giving you the middle finger at times. Compare that to Oblivion, or Skyrim, where the games are incredibly afraid of challenging the player in ANY WAY. Oblivion's leveling system that make sure you never face scary challenging enemy. Oblivion's letting you become arch-mage even if you don't know shit about magic. It's Denel saying "hey bro, if you don't have the spell required to open this ageless secret door to explore the ruins, the key is in a fucking chest RIGHT NEXT TO THE DOOR. Pic very much related.

Attached: chest1.png (701x381, 245.89K)

>you need to buy specific potions just to make your movement speed not an absolute crawl

You realize you don’t run across the map right? You use striders and guilds to fast travel to various cities. You should only be running through dungeons which if you took my aforementioned advice you wouldn’t be slow. Don’t blame the game for you playing it wrong.

and of course the faggot has to compare the game to a different elder Scrolls title because the game doesn't stand on its own feet
in morrowind the quest would have been to kill some dude in a cave and there would be no puzzle room whatsoever

Hot take: Morrowind actually makes "loredumps" interesting because you almost never get an objective answer, NPCs give you contradictory responses depending on their faction's POV.
