It’s a slow starting story based game that has mmo stuff added on. You get your first dungeon at 15. Also what kind of play style do you like?

You can unlock Rogue/Ninja which is a DPS at level 10, but you don't get access to Dark Knight, a big sword tank, until you reach Heavensward.

Well you have a rouge but that changes to ninja. It’s one of the better classes in the game and the only big sword guy is dark knight but you can only unlock it after you get into the next expansion Heavensward.

Nothing like that other then maybe archer but that’s only because of the bow and arrows. But archer is a horrible starting class.

not really. bard uses a bow but they don't have the typical hunter/ranger aesthetic. you can gear to dress yourself like one though

No. XIV just can not make a decent pet job, closest you get are Summoner/Scholar and those jobs have always been problem children since they were introduced.

You're not really getting an MMO or an RPG honestly. It's a lobby hotbar action game with WoW esq progression placed in an open world that isn't mostly just used to house the single player story

Great fucking soundtrack thought, especially past the base game and into the expansion (base game dungeons don't have background music, I really wish they'd retroactively fix that)

The changes are gonna affect the ARR story which you're going to be doing but unless you play all day every day until tuesday you likely wont be affected by it much.
