It’s starting to click

>yfw you realize mashing R1 works 90% of the time

>v says mashing L1 all the time wins
>also says mashing R1 all the time wins
Honestly fun seeing this. It's a very fun game and I'm glad it's clicking, OP

I’m more impressed by the level design and figuring out how to eliminate each enemy without needing to get into much combat.

I feel proud.

Extremely satisfying game once you get the hang of it

>level design
>sekiro
lmao sekiro has awful level design

Let me guess, you got mad that the ogre threw you off the cliff.

So you're at demon gyuobu?

genichro fight?

nonsense, it's very well designed and interconnected

I don't think I've enjoyed a level like pic related in Souls stuff since Latria.

No, I got mad at the fact that most of the game can just be bypassed or is a linear nothing with bunch of grapple points

At least they finally fixed the "quit-load" mob reset from Souls games.
>run past enemies
>quit game
>reloading keeps you in spot but resets the enemies
Now when you reload it puts you at the point before you start to get close.

FUCK HEADLESS

I wonder how many people in this thread still fight the bull completely wrong?

For the first few times I thought him slamming the side of his head into the ground was also an attack, but it's just him turning.

are you that idiot who thinks you are supposed to deflect?

>he STILL dodges the bull

OP here I haven’t even really fought a boss yet. Just the ogre beaten so far. But was hating the game at the second general, then started moving around the level and experimenting. I’m ready to get absolutely fucked by whatever real bosses come along

You fight the bull like a matador
Deflect charge then hit 3 times
Get distance
Repeat
Anything else is absolutely cringe

>stand and risk chip and burn damage for a difficult deflect for posture damage that will regen
OR
>easily run around do permanent HP damage

>risk chip and burn damage
there is no risk when you get good, shinobi

Imagine thinking this is hard

Just because you can deflect something, doesn't mean you should.

Imagine thinking the more difficult option that requires you to take damage is the better one

>Just because you can deflect something, doesn't mean you should.
This would make more sense in any game that wasn't Sekiro

Mashing L1 actually un-filtered me for Sword Saint. I had only died like 10 times to him but still.

I only got it to click after killing Gyobu and getting the Ashina arts for posture damage. I still find Lady Butterfly to be harder than any boss in the game, including Demon of Hatred and Owl Father though lmao

It is weird what filters people. I was told Guardian Ape was impossible but beat him first try, same with O & S in Dark Souls. Meanwhile Lady Butterfly filters me to this day

If you wanna get fucked now do hirata estate, you'll probably still be underpowered for that area

I'm being filtered by the last 2 phases of Isshin Sword Saint

Any tips?

Just git gud for the second phase, and bait the lightning attack for the third for an easy reversal and high damage

Try that on ghost monk or angry sculptor

Derp, meant to say "mashing L1 works".

Eventually you learn enemy attack patterns and how to time your blocks properly, but whenever I panic I just mash block and, at worst, I'll take a hit to my Posture.

Monkey Trouble still wrecks my shit in every playthrough. He's such a relentless bastard who barely ever holds still.

Does the Sakura bull glitch out for everyone now? I only ever cheesed him with a surprise fire cracker the first time, and every attempt since just leads him to freeze at the end of his animation and stay trapped in time until I hit him or walk into his vision.

Also I really like how they toned back the RPG elements and customization (seemingly, I'm still early on), kind of turned me off the souls game Desu
