If you think these games are unironically good try playing them on your own. You'll quickly find that they're boring slogfests. Allowing for co-op shouldn't be commendable but it sadly is with how few good ones are out there but people/gearbox seem to confuse that with universal praise. If you take out the games sad attempts at comedy there's pretty much nothing left.

I actually played the games, all of them singleplayer and then with a friend and I can safely say that 2>3>1>PS
2 had most variety and playing with gibbed are awesome, also randomizer mod is fun af

it had a lot of unique stuff going for it, the artstyle, the quick wit humor, the looty shooty, everything was pretty interesting when it came out. BL2 just kind of doubled down on the goofy side of it but it was still pretty fun and had an easy MP to drop in and out of. BL2 was really well recieved but it had a lot of haters too. unfortunately, the haters turned out to be right as the direction became more obvious with Pre-sequel and then BL3.

if randy pitchford leaves gearbox it would be a rennaisance of the franchise

I really liked borderlands 2, even more than 1, due to handsome jack, but the pre-sequel was so awful it turned me off from 3

I got it as of recently, gameplay is awesome, story is retarded and worthless legendaries also mayhem mode is unbalanced asf, even though it got "fixed". Also it's a very easy game on Normal, and I didnt even use the golden chest. Just prepare for dodging lots of shit.
I actually had and having fun with it solely for the gameplay.

Borderlands 3 is better than 2 in every way except story and the main baddies. The bad guys in 3 are UNBELIEVABLY cringe, and the story sucks major ass

Gameplay and guns are the best it's ever been. Designs and visuals are also pretty good. Humour and story is terrible. The fact the story and dialogue takes a much more central role in game does not help.

Story, dialogue and characters are shit in all games, exception being handsome Jack, he's actually funny even if his writing is horrible.

Besides that, gameplay is all that matters

pretty sure legendaries were supossed to reward your hard farming and give you big advantage and that's why they were so rare. I didn't mean lower gun count, but lower legendary usage, because it doesn't feel as special. I went nuts when I got my first legendary which was a Rolling Thunder from Willhelm, and that after 3 hours of farming.
