I hope you know every game since Return to Dream Land has been a fucking reskin of the same exact game you call new and innovating when they all do the same “GET THING TO BEAT THE STAGE” gimmick

The Robobot Armor was good, it was more like another playable character than a gimmick

KAR and 64 Minigames were great for multiplayer

Co-Op centric platformers generally suck it didn't work for NSMBWii idk why they keep trying

How did they go from Robobot, the best Kirby game since Superstar, to this game which is worse than every modern Kirby game? each level just feels like a copy and pasted unity asset.

Triple Deluxe was a retouch of the ultra ability gimmick, although I wouldn't say that was shoved down your throat from the start

It also had the best final boss rush in the franchise.

Star Allies was mediocre until they went EVERYONE IS HERE with the free dlc

I like how despite having 3 brothers and played the shit out of Kirby 64, I only found out it had multiplayer 20 years later

i only played robobot, but that was 30fps in 3d mode

The characters are fun though. It would be so much better if the levels were better. The music is really good too.

This. The characters are really fun to use but are all insanely overpowered in an already insanely easy game even by Kirby standards. And the levels aren't that fun to explore or find things in. The DLC would be neater if it didn't play like it was made by fans in a level editor, that shit gives off serious Brawl stage creator vibes.

If not for the rumors of a 3D Kirby game I'd hope we'd be getting a Robobot-esque title down the line where they use all of their previous work in Star Allies to make a fantastic game without having to lay down a more barebones groundwork for the console like Triple Deluxe's light mediocrity paved the way for Robobot.

Considering how many games with a similar formula we've had and how much of an EVERYONE IS HERE Star Allies is Post-DLC, it seems all too likely 3D's the only direction they can go now, though after that excursion I can only assume they'll try to shake things up for 2D if and when they do return.

It's fun to play, not a lot of replay-ability if you've already finished it and don't want to 100%
