an actual, real, bonafide minecraft thread
You DO play minecraft right?
I don't care if you're playing 1.16, 1.12, or some tech pack stuck on 1.7.3, just post what you are building / exploring / whatever and talk about it
I'm gathering materials for a volcano on my 1.16+ world and maybe I'll start the r.a.d modpack when I eventually finish.

1.16 is total trash trying to emulate terraria and eventually microsoft is going to add huge boobed girls for the incel points just like terraria did

I fail to see how that is a problem.

I don't care. Post your world. Don't tell me you entered a thread for a game that you aren't playing ANY version of.

cave upd ate when

Anyone played Craft to Exile? Seems very autistic, which is nice.

I wish

revisited this world recently, took a while but became quite comfy looking eventually

1.18 probably
vertical biomes are now a thing so it's only a matter of time
1.17 is obviously a small update like how 1.15 focused on the bees + bug fixes
Looks cool but I think I'll wait for the pack to get more refined. Maybe I'll take a look in creative to see a bit more.

bump

The basalt deltas are unironically incredibly soulful, my favorite part of the update is everything that makes the deltas so good (the blocks, new particle effects, and music)

agree
I was kind of skeptical at first but lena raine seems to get what makes c418's stuff memorable. It's good shit.

Anyone have any recommendations for mods that enhance the flavor of the game without overpowering it?
Something that improves the "point" of playing, quests and things to explore or happen upon, but don't force you to go full obnoxious +18 Dragon Heartblood Sword of the Avenger while the King Nightmare Demon Lord slaps my ass?

maybe try skyblock?
There's also a bunch of datapacks out there and as datapack support grows stronger you'll see custom biomes and dimensions entirely within a datapack eventually

bampin

>always just build comfy tropical beach huts
>decide I'm finally going to build a castle
>find a great spot in an extreme hills biome overlooking a beach
>but my castle is just a flat box on the outside
>took forever to get all the stone for the walls and feel like it'll be a pain to make turrets and other decorative bits
should've stuck with what I know, but I'm having fun
also large biomes is the only fun way to play this game unmodded

Terraforged just massively improves the terrain generation using vanilla assets. You get actual mountains and valleys and its all configurable. Bad news is that its 1.15 currently but they plan on updating it once 1.16.2 rolls out.

Decided to play on the newest version and finally get about to beating it singleplayer. I've built literally nothing except for a skeleton grinder from a spawner and have got perfect diamond gear+elytra now. What's the best way to get enough netherite to make a full set and also does upgrading tools remove enchants?

you gotta add depth
Start by taking your box and adding corners and taking them out. Move on from there.
The second it stops being a square it becomes ten times better.
TNT/beds or just instamining it with efficiency. Use the f3 + g to see chunk borders and mine at y=15 right on a chunk border if instamining. Upgrading keeps the enchantments.

Best way to get netherite is strip mining (be sure to label your mines)

No, upgrading tools does not remove enchantments. It even keeps the names if you gave your items one.

With all the mods out there is there a category/name for maps that are handcrafted? Just normal survival but on a map that has huge dungeons and stuff to explore, handcrafted cities.
Random generated stuff has no soul for me.

from what I read, every chunk in the nether has one vein of netherite generating between y=5 and y=22, then a second vein generating between y=5 and y=1XX, so your best bet is to excavate between 5 and 22 with TNT placed 4 blocks apart from each other

bed are renewable

they are indeed, but it's a more powerful explosion and it's less safe even with a block to protect yourself from the blast

>play on friends server
>we all build some really cool styled stuff
>one friend just builds a fucking glass and magmastone hut to live in thats huge and hurts to look at with shaders on
Why?

Thinking about that I might build a couple wool farms nearby with how simple it is now shears work from dispensers.

Shaders always look like shit with anything more abstract than a regular house. Having a massive glass dome sounds sick. Can build all the farms he'll ever need without ever having to leave his base.

Its not huge as in wide. its huge as in tall and every level except the first level is full of magmastone

ever since that was put in I instantly thought of a mooshroom farm that gives you brown mushrooms and steak but forgot about it as soon as the update came out
I should go in my creative world and try to do it again

I like TerraFirmaCraft

Last thing I played was two top tier castlevania maps. Criswelvania and Castle of the crescent moon.

Playng the Harry Potter map that is basically a ner game
