I miss her so much bros

I miss her so much bros.

Handheld perfection.

It didn't go anywhere retard

I'm not the only one who prefers the PSP design over the Vita design, right? Nothing wrong with the Vita ofc, but the design of the PSP is fucking dope

it sure looks cool
the analog nub was trash though

Sexiest portable ever. Also perfect Zoe for gaming.

For the time yeah but not really anymore. The PSP was great for emulators, running PS1 games on POPS, and easily pirating the PSP library with much faster loads than UMDs and the ability to overclock. But the PSP library is mostly just second class ports or inferior scaled down versions of console games. Many games were also essentially what we would consider throwaway mobile titles but sold at full price (the DS also had plenty of them too). The library has aged poorly and there is little to no reason to play the few exclusives on an ancient PSP when there is the MGS HD collection for Peace Walker (portable ops isn’t worth playing) or PPSSPP on your phone for anything else. FF Crisis Core the KH game, and the GTA games are garbage. Chances are your battery doesn’t work and it has enlarged also. I’m not going to buy another expensive non-chink battery to play Mega Man Powered Up (the only game I miss).

Emulation was meh. SNES was slow and GBA was good but not perfect. A modded 3DS gets you perfect native 3DS and SNES runs nice, especially the official emulator. I’m debating selling my 40 UMD collection and my PSP and PSP Go since I’ll probably never use them again except to play Mega Man Powered Up which I can play on my PC in higher res anyways

i wish psp comes back with amd mobile processors

>amd

Barf

give their 4000 series a look its really good

It's pretty nice. Yeah, loads of shit for it was mobile ports/mobile specific versions of games, but they're not bad.
My PSP had a bunch of Genesis games, PS1 games, and then a bunch of PSP games (mostly racing games -- Ridge Racer 2 is great fun).

The PSP looks cooler. The Vita is much, much better built.
I constantly wish the Vita's d-pad and face buttons were PSP sized though. Fucking tiny-shit buttons.

my Vita makes a far better PSP than my PSP ever did though, especially now that I have a top-slot SD adapter

>using UMDs
god, even the games I physically owned, I dumped to memory card

The PSP was great but the DSLite looked way better.

I remeber getting rock hard when I first saw this back in junior high

Forever in my heart.

bros your old PSP's battery hasn't bloated... right? Don't tell me you haven't checked it in years... it might be too late...

PSP is iconic and has a charm of its own, but I will never ever fully accept the fucking nub

ahead of its time

It fukn happened to me.

There will never be a handheld gaming system that makes such a gigantic leap in power and technology compared to what was, until that point, thought possible, as the PSP did
You went from having no device that could do everything the PSP could do to having one that could do it all overnight when it came out.
Never again will we see a handheld release where the tech is just so far ahead of everything else in existence as with the PSP. Real shame.

does anyone make decent replacement batteries?
the chink ones were always trash

For me, it was Syphon filter pvp

Seconding if anyone knows of a good replacement, mine is fucked

For me it was Logan's shadow online multiplayer. Size matters online was comfy too.

But it never went anywhere user. You DID take care of your PSP right?
I like the design of the NDS was better than the Lite. Also everyone I knew that had a Lite had it break at the hinges.
>don't tell me you haven't checked it in years
This, make sure to recharge/discharge it at least 3-4 times a year even if you don't use it, because you don't want to end up having to get a chink battery. I haven't been using mine as much as I used to these past 6-7 years, but I still have the OEM battery and it holds 2 hours of charge (maybe 3).
Yup, I remember being blown away by the fact that you could pretty much play ports of PS2 games which, even with the necessary graphical downgrades, still played perfectly fine. Not to mention the fact that you could play PS1 games on the go, and the PS1 was only barely 10 years old at the time. The DS was a toy compared to this powerhouse (still had a lot of great games of course). And don't get me started on the homebrew scene.. It was a really fun time.

I am a handlet so the Lite is much more comfortable for me. I currently do all of my handheld gaming on a GBA micro.

psp go cut down on neckstrain, the other models are a pain in the ass

Damn I'd completely forgotten about that. The SP was pretty much GBA perfection for me, even with the narrow layout.

make your own and play all day on a single charge

the fact that metal gear peace walker existed for this is pretty fucking cool

besides that game I didn't really enjoy anything else, oh i guess final fantasy dyssidia,

Elden Ring target release date is March 26th of 2020

I have insider knowledge due to being a translator and having due dates.

Wrong thread buddy

typo, I meant to say 2021. Marketing will likely pick up soon

well then :) its even more secretive

dude, I still have my psp 1000 that I bought back in 2006, it still runs incredibly well to this day, didn't change anything about it once, battery still holds 3 to 4 hours of gametime after all those years, screen has a minor crack in the corner but still looks great, and the stick is still as smooth as when I first bought it, didn't even need to oil it once at all, still original charger and all, I remember a friend of mine that had the slim version and when I held it it felt so flimsy and weak compared to mine
let me tell you, those things are some fucking reliable machines
I played a shitton of games on it, now I sometimes go back to play some mhfu even though I have everything g rank cleared and just a few weapons missing that I didn't care about, with almost 1.8k hours played total counting lost saves

nothing beats waking up randomly at 4 or 5am and not being able to go back to sleep, so you just reach out in the darkness of the night to your psp, turn it on and continuing whatever game you had on, msg or daxter or whatever else, into the morning, that shit was so comfy
