I just bought a gaming laptop and I am pretty pumped. BH photo is selling decked out legion 5i's for 1300. $300 off.
That's a lot of performance for the price. You would be hard pressed to get a desktop and monitor for the same price.
I never thought I would be a gaming laptop, but a couple things changed my mind. They can be a good value.

1. It's great to take to friend's houses, and play games on LAN.
2. It's so much more mobile. Let's say your girlfriend or family member wants to use the living room, or some other such. You can just move into a different room.
3. It's good for work, if you do graphics editing or any visual processing.
