what went wrong?
What went wrong?
People stopped coming online to get fucking slapped by my Machamp.
Not enough waifumons.
play me right now nigger
I downloaded the free demo and it felt so bland.
Nintendo fans are spoiled by Smash play style, that a bit game closer to an actual fighting arcade game wasn’t fun for them. I actually believe that if they made the game exactly like smash brothers but with nothing but Pokémon, it would have been extremely successful.
No metagross, tyranitar or deoxys
imagine having such shit tase
I fucking hate the "angle" this game has
Having no defensive options for getting back up is really terrible for balance.
you have plenty
learn how to play
The trial ended.
No palette options, customizations for the pokemon. Who fucking cares what your trainer looks like, it's on screen for like 2 seconds.
The actual demo, or the free trial on the weekend? The demo has such poor character representation.
>Pikachu
>Empoleon
>Charizard
>basically zero zoning
>two of the slowest characters in the roster
>characters are separated into 4 categories, Standard/Speed/Power/Technical
>demo doesn't even have representation from 3 different categories
What the actual fuck were they thinking?
>20 pokemon
>roster smaller than almost every PS1 fighting game
it was doomed to die so quick because TPC can only make low budget games
>roster smaller than almost every PS1 fighting game
What fighting game rosters had more than 20 characters besides KoF on PS?
It was doomed because the larger audience would prefer a fanservice/party fighting game over a balanced fighting game.
Tekken 3
Tobal 2
The game was perfectly fine for what it was. My biggest complaint about it was depending on which Mon you play if you get matched up with a zoner, the fight ends up being a 0 fun teeth pulling slog.
I mean, Pokemon franchise is for casuals and children.
making a serious game for serious competitive doesn't fit or work
Do people still play this online?
Not that user, but it's kind of unfair to compare sequels to a launch title of a franchise.
The game released half finished with an unacceptable roster. Only Pokken Deluxe + all the dlc reaches the very baseline for a AAA fighter and even then there's absolutely no single player or additional modes.
I'm playing it right now
launch title could get DLCs but only got 2
Something I dislike of pokémon spinoffs like this one in particular is that it seems that Gamefreak or someone wants to have them stay as far possible of the mainline games.
I liked Pokken but the human design is just super generic instead of the Ken Sugimori art style (Imagine if it had the balls to go early GEN 1 style-wise).
Same goes for the region, oh, it´s just a mountain, oh, it´s a haunted house. Sure they are cool but I wish they used actual locations from the games, like a Gen3 stage with Groudon and Kyogre fighting in the background, Spear Pillar, Indigo Plateau, Ultra Space, Goldenrod City, Giratina´s Dimension....fuck, a lot of place to choose from and we get just generic locations because they have to tie in to the half assed story.
Also, no cool remixes from the mainline games for the OST? What is this bullshit?
A lot of the stages are actually Tekken references instead, IIRC. I definitely recognize Dragon's Nest.
its fun but i suck at fighting games
i really liked seeing the implementation of various moves in game
swords dance on scizor and calm mind on gardevoir for example are so fucking cool
It's made for kids
Not on PS4
the only thing wrong with it is that my machine can't handle it on yuzu so i have to play on cemu
