Why does masseffect 2 get a pass for casualizing and neutering RPG game elements. People shit on skyrim for being a shitty action game with rpg elements, but its ok that mass effect 2 is a shitty third person cover shooter with rpg elements.

It's not shitty. It's a 10 out of ten.

I have no idea. Mass Effect 2 made me drop the series, it shit on the lore and removed the scale

you shot yourself in the foot with pic related, skyrim doesn't have miranda's ass or anything close

Neutered how exactly

The only thing gutted was planet exploration which was shit anyway aside from the nice skyboxes

Uh user I

Go on, dumbass

It shouldn't get a pass as an RPG. But as a game it was a fun 3rd person cover based shooter with additional elements. On its own I don't think that would have been successful but marketed as an RPG and with a significant amount of dialogue covers its warts.

>It's not shitty. It's a 10 out of ten.
great argument you really convince me there

>get a pass
it gets lambasted non fucking stop for casualising the rpg stuff. lurk more

Dumb unitedstatians cried for a third person cover shooter gears of war clone.
Investing points into shotguns and using a sniper rifle and asking why the aim circle is so big and why don't bullet's go on the dot to the crosshair.
Brain-dead faggots like the faggots that cried when their mace doesn't hit from 20m away in Morrowind.
Its the same type of retards that made Fallout 4 into a shooter as well as maxing small guns in 3 was to complicated for their feeble little minds.

I dont like mass effect 2 never said the women weren't fucking sexy

>Mass Effect
>anything but a third person cover shooter with RPG elements
Are you fucking braindead? The series was never an RPG like Dragon Age.

>The only thing gutted was planet exploration which was shit anyway aside from the nice skyboxes
so lineral hallways crawling and point and click on planets is a better alternative

-Ammo types
-Removed armor for companions
-Skill trees stupidly simplified
-The whole inventory system
-No EXP from enemies

>nooo I don't get to wander around these empty planets and explore the same copy pasted tiny outposts anymore muh rpg elements are ruined because the games slightly more linear
Boo hoo

Because Mass Effect 1 did not leverage any of its interesting elements well and I honestly thought it was better for them to just focus on making a streamlined good experience instead of failing again..

Yes, since they actually added variety and not the same copy pasted hallway on the same copy pasted planets. What do you expect them to do in 14 months of developement time?

Mass Effect 2 improved and steamlined the sloppy aspects of ME1. The general shooting gameplay of ME1 was terrible.

>it gets lambasted non fucking stop for casualising the rpg stuff. lurk more
maybe in the past nu -v loves this garbage

Miranda got a fat ass though

NOOOOOOOOOO you cant improve the open area environments you have to steamline everything and make it a hallway simulator

>Because Mass Effect 1 did not leverage any of its interesting elements well and I honestly thought it was better for them to just focus on making a streamlined good experience instead of failing again..
so instead of taking the risk of making a truly amazing experience your ok they took the fucking lazy way out. your everything wrong with modern gaming

You're*

You'd have got a bad game. I don't think the tech is even mature enough right now to give us a proper expanded systems Mass Effect.

>Mass Effect 2 improved and steamlined the sloppy aspects of ME1.
by steamlining the game your remove what made the game interesting. your not improving thing your changing things

>ESLs are the ones with the problem
ever tim

/thread

mass effect 2 is dumb down garbage

>Mass Effect 1
>open area
I knew the majority of people here never played the games at all and just want to chimp but wew lad, actually play the games yourself.

It's one kraut from /meg/ who unironically is like 40 or 50 years old, votes Linke (far left) and wants more refugees in Europe.

Noveria was pretty open.

But what about the rolling hills of nothing in-between those setpieces?

It really was just KOTOR maps. I would deeply enjoy a game where you could drive your Mako around deeply realized maps and you had full vehicle and 3rd person combat integration.

But Mass Effect 1 was not that game.

It's the perfect game.

It caught plenty of shit for it back in the day. It got away with it for having other redeeming qualities. Not to mention it released during a time when AAA games were becoming increasingly smoothbrained.
