I keep pitching a horror game concept that takes this game’s feel up to 11.
But people just go

It’s a very odd game in that the “bad qualities” are purposeful and, for me, endearing due to consistency with the whole game overall. For example, within the confines of this game, I found it cool and immersive that K&L, when shooting a gun, don’t always hit exactly where you the player are clearly aiming. They even can totally whiff shots completely. This imperfection is really cool from the perspective of someone that has to be gun trained for a profession. Everyone can point a gun at a target but placing a bullet in the intended area takes practice. K&L are nobodies with no training caught in the middle of intense gunfights. Even pros would be thrown off their game.

And that unreliability extends from the gunplay to the unfocused, unprofessional camcorder operator and further to the narrative made up of poor character choices leading us down inconvenient avenues.

I can totally understand this game being written off as shit. But, in my opinion, I see it designed that way in a cohesive package I have a lot of fun revisiting from time to time.

It was in the development but because of the reception it got cancelled. I like 1 but 2 really was on whole another level, simply amazing gritty and disgusting game with alot of charm.

What made the game so awful, in such a wonderful way? I never played it.

that was more to the point. the pacing was meant to be absolutely breathless, the game didn't want to let you catch your breath for a few minutes with some filler dialogue or hub zone. It was just unrelenting and is part of why I love it so much

Despite how shit it is, I can't bring myself to hate Kane and Lynch. They're just so marvelously gritty and unpleasant. There's nothing lighthearted or warm about them, it's just a game about misery and death and two guys who wish they were fucking dead. I like how unapologetic it is.

I finished it yesterday in one run (short game), the only thing that i disliked was the abrupt ending.

I personally loved it. it robs the player of any sort of catharsis, perfectly rounding off the nihilistic and bleak tone it spent the last few hours hitting you over the head with. We're not gonna give you a happy ending; hell, it's not even gonna be satisfying. Why would it, after what you've just experienced with everything leading up to it?

Hatred isn't dark enough, it's like a parody because it's too cartoonish. They should have tried for the Postal 1 aesthetic.
