I'm gonna go ahead and give my piece here.

In Halo 5, she is referenced as "The Harbinger". That new brute character at the end of Halo Infinite's gameplay says "The goals of The Banished align with the Harbinger's and the will of Atriox".

Basically, Cortana has supplemented her Promethean forces with The Banished. The Banished fill the role of the Covenant in the past games gameplay wise and story wise are in league with Cortana's attempt at controlling the galaxy.

Like it or not,Halo 4 and 5 are canon and Infinite is a continuation of that story, despite the shift in art design back to something more resembling the original trilogy.

Either killed off in a comic like Didact or in a irrelevant cutscene like M'dama.

Man, fuck 343 for ruining this series. I just spent the evening playing the first few levels of CE and might do the trilogy over the weekend. Call babby's first FPS all you want, but I'm 29 years old now and these games still hold up. Great sci fi universe, tight game design, amazing presentation. You watch the old behind the scenes docs from the Bungie days and you can see they're all so passionate about the games. There was so much soul, and 343 shit all over it.

The Domain is like a Subspace server that the Precursors made. the precursors arent completely gone, since they can be whatever they want, and are currently the flood. but even tho she is in control of all forerunner tech and entered the Domain, she cant have eyes in all places at all time. They might need to go back to the Ark or find some other failsafes to excise cortana from the domain. The cortana we see now is a fragment of her Rampant form. Its very possible that the gravemind is on the Arc, stuck there, with a copy of Cortana. Imagine a Flood Cortana. The Gravemind may also know how to deal with Cortana. the greatest threat to the universe may also be its savior. But the brutes from halo wars 2 are in the way.

There is an achievement in Halo 5 with that name for clearing Blue Team's last mission without any squad member being KO'd, but it'd be odd to just take the name from a vaguely related achievement, when she has been using "The Created" up to that point.
