WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS REAL?
YOU'RE FUCKING DISGUSTING.
Is Simon the dumbest motherfucker on earth?
Sorry no incels allowed on the Ark
Says the whore running 5 virtual machines RIGHT NOW.
This gonna be ANOTHER fucking coin toss thread?
wait, he was a robot?
it wasnt, why the hell did you mention those two words.
Anyone have the Super Mario double cherry webm?
You Fool!
So was the coin toss real?
would you?
No, only retards believed the toss.
no, he was zombies
If we plug back the last human back to WAU you'll have immortal pussy.
If Simon had waited a few seconds before shooting off the Ark could he have won the coin toss? Or are the odds predetermined and fixed?
GOOSH GOOSH GOOSH
God you fucking retard there is no coin toss.
Pretty sure there is since Simon won the first two and it's mentioned in game
And Simon N is going to win N-1 coin tosses, retard.
The coin toss is just a fancy way of saying that the old body is gonna get fucked over while the new one is going to win.
Yeah but he goes into the new body the first two times. his name is Simon Jarret btw. Did you even play the game
The way I understand it, if he was living 'in the moment' at any point leading up the activating the Ark, then he 'lost' the coin toss. Because the Simon that ended up on the Ark didn't actually experience anything the previous Simon's did, he was simply created from the memories of those experiences.
They key is understanding that you play as three different Simons in the game, four if you count the after-credits one on the Ark. There's the first one that died in modern time but got his memories uploaded, the second one that ends up dying in the robot body transfer, and the third one that ends up launching the Ark but remains on a destroyed Earth. The fourth was created from the memories of all the previous ones combined, but didn't actually experience any of it personally.
The game was rigged from the start.
no, he doesnt. a copy of simon is left in each body he leaves the game just has you take over the new simons because otherwise the game would have fucking ended the first time he swaps
here is a thought experiment to prove that there is no coin toss. Imagine your brain blueprint was beamed all the way across the galaxy. After hundreds of millions of years, the blueprint reaches some aliens, who perfectly reconstruct your intelligence using that blueprint. Does that affect the "you" from hundreds of millions of years ago when your brain was scanned? Do you at any point in time have a chance of suddenly teleporting to the place and time where you were eventually reconstructed, as a result of something that may happen in the future? Obviously not. There's no guarantee that the scan will ever be put to use to create a duplicate intelligence, yet the moment of being scanned is when you will allegedly switch places with your duplicate. It simply violates causality to say that you have a chance of your consciousness "jumping" at that very instant based on what is done in the future with that scan.
and since the argument shows the absurdity of jumping 100000000 years into the future, the same argument holds if there is even a 0.000000000001 second delay between being scanned and activating the scanned brain in a separate consciousness. There has to be some space-time delay because you are presumably not in the exact same place as your duplicate and the transfer is limited by the speed of light, therefore there can never be a chance of your consciousness jumping, period.
You'd think so, but judging by the comments this game gets half of the people who played it to completion genuinely didn't get it either so I guess not.
no. he didn't even toss a coin, and it was not judged by a referee.
No it woudlve just gone a different way but we followed the Simon who won the toss except at the end.
>Do you at any point in time have a chance of suddenly teleporting to the place and time
Yes just like in the movie AI
I've heard nothing but good things about SOMA, and have it on PS4, because it was free on PS+ awhile back, problem is, I can't do horror. I get too scared. Should I just suck it up and playthrough it?
Well lit room and liquid courage.
