Pretty sure Yabuki's soul died after ARMS died. And it died again when not even Sakurai seemed to give a shit about the game, with how he had to ask him and other staff about the game and how little care was put into ARMS representation in Smash.

It's pay to win. Don't even bother, the game is very unfriendly to new players.
They have bi-weekly tours and ALWAYS introduce at least one high-end/ultra rare unit/driver.
All courses have their "preferred" driver, kart and glider. If you don't have them, you get less than half the points. There's a weekly ranking where you can get up to 40 rubies or so. But it's filled with whales. So yer fucked, unless you cough up some dough and empty a pipe/banner.

ARMS shows all of its lore in the game itself via the gallery and some slight dialogue. Min Min in Smash doesn't have any unique sound effects which are very noticeable if you play ARMS. She doesn't have the green glow on her grab like in ARMS. Her down B is stupid considering you can only change arms (both left and right) once at the start of each round.
She doesn't even have two of the central mechanics of the game, charging (charging smash attacks dont fucking count, look up how it works in ARMS) and the Rush bar. Which is weird considering we've had so many "fill up a bar to unleash a powerful attack" characters in the series recently.

Yeah but its just that gachas tend to exploit every bit of nostalgia they have built up over the years. He might be from the game that heralded 3d mario, but he's basically nostalgia bait now even including mario 64 ds, so anything is on the table.

Odyssey had a similar tactic of grabbing Marios from literally everything they could, this Odyssey outfit was from a fucking german super gameboy commercial.

i tried playing this when it first came out and i just couldn't stand it, the prices were stingy as shit and the game itself was just awful to play. if they ever start adding some deep cut characters like fucking RPG oc's it'd be the worst fucking thing short-term but at least it may open the door for an actual mario kart to get them.
although theres still the absolute worst-case scenario where they show up in this garbage then fuck back off to obscurity
