I can't be the only one who still lives with his parents at 25, right? right?
I can't be the only one who still lives with his parents at 25, right? right?
Yes, you and you alone are the only one still living with mama and dada at the ripe old age of 25
Youre a ginormous fuck up and everything will crash down around you when they age and rot in the ground
Nah, I'm improving myself. Health comes first, and I'm damn sure I'm healthier than you and look better than you.
I'm a month away from 27 and I'm still a massive fuckup
I'm 30 and in the same position. I'll never make enough money to live on my own.
I was living with my then-fiance at 25. I lost my job, got depressed for a bit, then got a better job, and fiance dumped me. And though the better job was good, it was seasonal (later learned the department was outsourced) and I wasn't working at the time so moved back in with the parents. Almost 12 years later, I still live with them because living alone is insanely expensive. Go California!
It's not that I can't afford to live alone, but if I did, I wouldn't be saving any money.
23 here
i have no career or future prospects whatsoever
I lived with them until I was 30 user, even had a couple girlfriends that moved in with us for a while too. just live your life and get out on your own whenever you can comfortably afford it. or stay with them and save even more money if you don't give a shit.
I feel bad if I reply to one person and the other doesn't get any (you)s.
Any of you have hobbies besides video games? I'd like to get into something more creative, or maybe learn a language.
How did you ultimately move out?
wtf why is lucifer a girl?
You can still be a massive fucking loser and live by yourself it's actually more fun and personal.
I mean, I COULD move out, but why not save money instead of living in constant debt?
This is how I always imagined living in Japan would be. Ah, what a dream.
True. I wasted so much money during this pandemic. I'm a little rough around the edges, but I'll figure it out.
that's my wife
My third world country has a dramatic class problem so my parents won't let me get a low level job, I have to choose a course and finish college then I get a job
>tfw parents kicked me out at 17 and gave me no further help
user if I were in your shoes I would just save money like a jew and have a good nest egg (5k+) and more income before busting out
take it from my perspective: your trapped misery is my lost fortune
I moved back in with my parents after college and a shitty job scenario when I turned 28, so roughly between you two.
Get a shitty job doing anything. Anything, like janitorial work third shift or bullshit security contracting. Live lean, save money, and move to a metro area ASAP. Abandon all your physical belongings: They're worthless and you don't deserve them when you don't have a place to house them. Get roommates. Strangers. Don't be a moron, you can tell if someone is going to pull weigh or bail. Don't be the faggot that bails. Get a white collar temp job: if you're here you can bullshit it. Learn how to use office suite and hotkeys. Learn to touch type if you haven't already. Bust ass even when they're exploiting you and stay grateful; call your supervisors sir. Use the experience and references to a job with a startup or a government contractor as soon as possible. Good luck. Play old video games and emulators in your free time.
There is literally nothing wrong with living with your patents for however long unless you're married, don't fall for burger schemes.
I'm 24 and I've lived alone and have been independent for the last 5 years while I was going through college
I'm going to take your advice. I did waste a lot of money, and I probably should start getting rid of as many things as possible. I only have about 400 dollars in my name. Pathetic.
33 here, you stay any longer and they become dependent on you, then you're their elder caregiver. GET OUT!
solid advice here
Speaking of which, is the user that got shamed by his boomer dad on facebook still here, I'm curious about what he did afterwards
I play guitar, draw and I'm currently making a game. I am very passionate about all of those things, unfortunately I don't think I will be able to make money from them.
My former co-worker, who ironically enough quit the job and went back to live with his parents across country at 27, moved to completely unknown city, even had a GF here and still between their two salaries they would BARELY have enough left over after rent and other expenses were covered. From what he told me that was actually the major reason behind their break-up.
>business degree cum laude from best undergrad in state (not accounting or finance cuz retarded)
>know Microsoft office inside out
>have unrelated job experience
>no white collar jobs will hire me seasonal or not
how do you do it bros, how do you work in an office without nepotism
I did until I turned 30. It was aight
I'm saved my dads company growing and getting bigger every year, I'd be so fucked without it.
I've started reading a bit and am studying how to draw porn. Was learning japanese and coding a game but I'm about to move so that's on hold for now.
I'm living with my grandparent's to take care of them, since my mom and aunt can't be around all the time. It's honestly pretty comfy situation ngl.
22 years and still live with my dad. I was a 2 year NEET until this year managed to get a night shift job at a grocery store because of covid (they were hiring anyone)
I managed to save $7000 Canadian so far (dad even specifically told me he doesn't want rent). Thing is, I don't really know where I'm going. I'd love to just save enough to never have to work and just pirate all my games and anime, but I know I'd never save enough to live a lifetime.
You'll never really save enough to last you a lifetime, but if you live frugally without rent you can last with it. Keep in mind "frugally" doesn't mean "getting the latest iphone because it's offered on payment plan" and shit like that. Since you're already pirating you have the right mindset.
When I was younger I enjoyed rock climbing (nothing extreme, just short courses with all the safety equipment) and kayaking. But I haven't done any of that since I was in High School. It's just vidya now. I also used to be into art, but was never very good. I do contribute to a podcast if you count that as something else.
Honestly, should I get rid of all my possessions? Including the ones that I just wasted money on? That includes the stupid Switch lite I bought with about 13 games. But I would never get what I paid back.
>nepotism
You're right. I got my current job (eight years) from a connection I established temping. If you are truly busting ass at the temp jobs you will establish connections. Someone else will get out and if you're a champ they'll want to bring you with them because you are pleasant to work with. I mean this in the nicest way possible: Be honest with yourself, would you enjoy working with someone like yourself? Smile. Pretend you are 70% less intelligent and interesting than you are. Would you enjoy working with yourself or is this guy a fucking annoying sperg? With seasonal work you don't have to be talented, you don't need to have experience at the door (having the experience keeps you around past the initial culls). The proficiency is important because it keeps you there and keeps you from developing carpal as rapidly. All you have to do at the door is convince them you're not unpleasant to work with.
