It's a short game that most people won't bother 100%ing by doing the optional objectives and drone collecting. Hopefully the second game gets remade because that one was a straight upgrade.

The optional objectives are all pretty easy to do, except for that grenade one. Fuck that, and fuck drone collecting.

Drone collecting is pretty easy in the remake because they made the models bigger and more flashy. I found most of them just by grabbing them as I bumped into them during missions. The abduction etc. challenges also put you on a path through some of them.

good media is cherrished and discussed long after their release window, bad/mediocore media is discarded after their release window. our species is currently producing an obscene amount of bad/mediocore media and talking points like yours only make the problem worse

I played it and liked it well enough. Then I emulated the sequel and wondered why they didn't remake that instead.
>The saucer is better integrated into the mission design. In the first game, Cryto missions and Saucer missions were pretty much entirely separate. The sequel sees you collecting the parts to build a transmitter on-foot using PK, then using the saucer to lift the finished transmitter to the top of a tower. This crossover between gameplay styles goes a long way in making the game feel more fleshed out.
>Bodysnatching is a straight up better mechanic than the HoloBob and is used far more effectively. Trying to bodysnatch a police officer so you can call in an all-clear is a pretty inspired way to handle a nootoriety wipe. I also like the on-screen alerts that tell you how many people saw you bodysnatch someone, it makes getting a clean snatch much more satisfying than it would have been otherwise. Also, you don't need arbitrarily scan minds to maintain a human form, giving much more significance to the mind reading.
>Mind reading is far better utilized in the sequel as well. You no longer have to scan three humans to get a marker on your map, you now have to actually pay a bit of attention to what they're saying to get clues on where to go. You then reference those clues with your map to pinpoint your destination. It's not really difficult by any means, but making you do that little extra bit of work makes mind reading more impactful.

So it looks like the game can be modded pretty similarly to other UE4 games. I loaded in a green suit texture to test it.
Unfortunately something breaks compatibility with UE Viewer with this game for everything but textures, and I'm assuming it would also cause issues with adding modded files back into the game.
