After Ghost of Tsushima (2?), Sucker Punch could create another game in the same vein.
This time covering part of the mongol conquest in Eurasia.
Sucker Punch already has some knowledge of Mongol culture and history, so it's easier to continue in this direction.
But, for this game to succeed it needs
>Better horseback combat
>Feigned retreating
>More Mongolian throat singing. Instead of a flute, your character throat sings.

Ghost of Tsushima is a samurai game, not a history game. It's on the same level as Arthurian Tales and Mongolians don't really have any western-famous tradition they could use for that idea of yours. They'd have to make a historical game and no one would want to play that.
>They'd have to make a historical game and no one would want to play that.
Wrong.
Most people wouldn't want to play that.
Why do you think are most samurai games fantasy? Ghost of Tsushima is a perfect example. A truly historical version of this era was done in Shogun 2's... most hated DLC, which was the only one that attempted to add at least a minimum of historical accuracy to the game.
They could just shove in "From the creators of Ghost of Tsushima" in every facet of their marketing and most people would be interested. It all depends on their teasers/trailers though.
Most people would spit it right back at them and complain about making pointless bullshit when they could be making another fantasy game like Ghost of Tsushima 2 instead.
If you want history, play old games from the era when we still didn't realise that history is an unusable vessel for entertainment media.

There was one but it's either cancelled or on hold.

It's a game about Samurai and Ninja and sneaking around and shit. They'd be totally shooting themselves in the foot by making it about Mongols.
I get why you want this but it's really not the game to do it. They just wouldn't take a risk like that.
They're already exposed and are familiar with the mongols in GoT, so i think less of them will spit it right back. They could make this game after Ghost of Tsushima 2, just before the japan fatigue kicks in.
That setting is top tier.
I hope suckerpunch expands their historical games folder.
Brainlet post. The worst part about Tsushima was the stealth and ninja aspects
I Want Sly5 first.
I Hope SP has the balls to do it.
>Mongolians don't really have any western-famous tradition.
That could be sucker punch's chance to seize on that then.
>expansion set in Iki with a content refresh in Tsushima too since it get reinvaded
This should happen for sure.
I could see they just pivoting right into mythological shit and be a more casual Nioh. If they don't want that, just go straight to Sengoku period and have a dramatized version of the unification of Japan. I just don't think the name Ghost of Tsushima is a IP you can carry into other shit
Their next game should be called Ghost of Okinawa
> Defend Okinawa kingdom from Japanese Empire Invasion
>a samurai game
lmao it stopped being a samurai game the moment stealth got introduce
They could do one about the Japanese attempt to challenge the Ming dynasty through Joseon, how they killed a million Koreans only to end up losing anyway.
The korean invasion was Hideyoshi's plan to get all the samurai killed so that no one would be left to challenge his rule back in Japan.
This
People want to play as cool shit like samurai or ninja
If tsushima was historicaly accurate, you would have played neither because samurai then had almost nothing to do with the pop culture ones you find in movies and manga, you wouldn't even use a katana for most of the game
Not that I wouldn't want to play that, but the general public won't
Well that plan didn't fly so good, all he did was bankrupt his clan before dying of covid98.
The Mongolians are actually really accurately represented. Most aspects of Japanese culture are, too; it's really just the samurai that are inaccurate.
>The Mongolians are actually really accurately represented
If it was accurate, 90% of the enemies would be koreans and chinese. Remember this invasion was helmed by the Yuan dynasty, not the mongol empire itself.
I dig it. Love to see the Mongol horde invading against knights.
>Mongolians are actually really accurately represented
>they can't even use their bows while riding
Couldn't Sucker punch apply that same approach to this mongol game.
lmao nobody want to play as a mongol
Speak for yourself, americano.
>The Mongolians are actually really accurately represented.
No they weren't. The japanese weren't even represented properly. It uses edo period japanese weapons and armor in a 1200's setting. The game is not historically accurate, and the developers even marketed it as such. They admitted they were not going for accuracy because it wasn't as marketable to the western market.
>mongols now appropriately fire arrows at jin while riding their horses around him.
>Jin gets his shit wrecked
yeah that's historically accurate
I said that the Mongolians were accurate, not that the composition of the invading force was accurate. You raise a good point, though.
They absolutely do, though you're right that they prefer to dismount. Fwiw, IRL Mongolians didn't exclusively shoot from horseback; they typically had smaller bows for horseback and larger ones for dismounting.
If you made them even more badass and cool, maybe people will.
Why did people want to play as Knights, Vikings and Samurai? Just add mongols to the list.
Did you even read my post? I said that the samurai are inaccurate, as in their weapons and armor, as well as bushido and their use of haiku.
