The more I looked at it, the more it seems like bad modelling and bad animation. I'm not into 3D graphics, so I can't really say. But it's almost like the head is misshapen, and the movement of the face is too robotic to actually move the lips how they're supposed to go. I don't know really, but I'm thinking it's technical difficulties, rather than moral grandstanding.

Not only does Bow Kid look better black, her character design is also objectively cuter than Hat Kid's. And all of the alternate color schemes look great on her, while they look Tacky on Hat Kid. Because Bow Kid just has a better overall fit.

Honestly I think they both work fine: Hat Kid working with her simplicity, and Bow Kid with her accessories. I honestly think they look great together.

Give her a cute bonnet and I think it'd be gold.

It's because they tried and failed to morph an adult face capture into a child version of said adult.
