Personally, I can't stand when the game slows down when you're hit. Too distracting and breaks flow.
I dont hate the game, it's a pretty good metroidvania with nice art and soundtrack. But I cannot bring myself to like the game due to the overly obsessive fan base this game has. The way people go on about it your think it was the second coming of Christ or something. It was a similar thing with Undertale a few years back.
