It happens more often than that. Any time you're on pace it's a rush like no other.

It's one of the few things any autist will improve on purely by brainless repetition, no talent is needed.You will keep getting slightly faster until most inputs are muscle memory. Hence why it's a favorite among spergs.

Bragging rights and, usually, mastery of skill which was a foundation of arcade gaming. Zoomers don't understand this because games to them are for social points and or just to shitpost over the internet about. They don't "play" a game because it's fun, they "play" through a game once, say they beat it and call it trash because it was too short or something like that.

It's full of neurotics. One of the popular GTA streamers locked a girl in his car when she refused to be his girlfriend. One of the ESA tech guys snuck into a girl's bed as she slept. It's full of mental whackjobs.

Constant mind numbing repetition, requirement of time only the socially awkward have sparingly, need for order and perfection, and taking a game played for please and trying to finish it as soon as possible which is not actually meant to be fun

I find satisfaction for mild speed running because you learn the game inside out and it's satisfying to see your favorite games done in fast times. Going for world records is cringe due to the insane skill ceiling.

A lot of people consider Clintstevens one of the less autistic speedrunners, which is funny because he was one of the most brainless austistic grindmonkeys in the entire community. He learned one route for one category and grinded it nonstop 8 hours a day for 3 years straight, spamming the reset button, literally never changing anything even when all of the other runners were updating their strats (the meta in OOT changes all the time), switching categories, playing beta quest, bingo, randomizers etc. lmao. Despite the memes, no one actually ever spends so long doing the literal exact same thing over and over with zero variation, but Clint did.

He finally started running another game (SM64) after years of grinding but holy fuck his OOT grind was so fucking long and legendary autistic.

Guys can't be titty streamers, so this is their version of it. They don't care about enjoying the game as intended, they just care about having viewers. They act like autists to try to pick up viewers since they can't dress like whores and show cleavage like thot streamers. The big problem is their personality actually changes to match the act they're putting on and they become mentally ill.

The streaming and conventions ruined speedrunning for me because of all the autism. It was way better when it was just some awesome youtube video someone randomly linked.
