Remember when Sonic had literal 11/10 level and art design.

Adventure was pure aesthetic.

Modern day Sonic Team seems to acknowledge that Adventurefags are the worst fanbase

remember when the Adventure formula reached its logical conclusion but nobody was ready for it

>No hubworlds
>Linear level design
>Bottomless pits left and right
>Neither Sonic nor Mech gameplay; a mashup of both and not as good as either
>More akin to the Heroes formula instead of the Adventure formula
>"Hurrrr the logical conclusion of Adventure"

At least post Unleashed.

And that's why all the new games not called Mania Plus suck. Eat shit.

>Levels flowing in the sky simulator
>Literal real life textures = le good maymay

No. I'll never like Adventure era for anything that isn't the physics based gameplay which wasn't even that good but for the first time doing so I can respect it, but that's also only 1/6th of the entire game.

So no, play other actually real great 3D platformers instead.

Good. No one likes their trash era content.

This will be fun; such as?

There's something that bothers me about the current art style with the modern design

The adventure formula is built on solid 3D momentum physics, retard. Heroes/Shadow have the same completely nonphysical gameplay engine that is completely fucking unworkable for a sonic game. It's the equivalent to the horrible 2D physics in Sonic 4 and Sonic Forces.

Rayman 2/3
Mario 64/Galaxy/3DWorld
Crash 1-4 (despite being 2.5D)
Spyro 1-2 (three has all the problems of 3D Sonic)
Ratchet and Clank 1-3 (including 1 remake/reboot)

Hell, even Spark the Electric Jester does the bad parts of Sonic better despite still being objectively bad ideas in 3D gaming.

I just want chubby cute classic sonic juxtaposed into a realistic world
don't give me these teenager hedgehogs

Not even a third of those are as good as Adventure. Literally kys.

>Wanting 90s Sonic in Sonic 06
Go fuck yourself shitposter. Give me Special Stage Zone aesthetics or don't fucking better.

Go fuck yourself Sonicnigger. Tired of you schizos thinking anyone fucking likes your trash.

Even this is a real 3D platformer more than your hallways in the sky trash.

is that why they're garbage?

WHERE'S THE FUCKING ANNOUNCEMENT

CHAO GARDEN CHADS RISE UP

Take your meds and don't post in my threads again you diseased fucking cunt.

Nah, fuck you and your shit nigger series.

Unleashed aesthetic is pure kino

>One of our goals was to meet—or even surpass—the visual quality of CG animated films. Capturing that tangible feeling was something we really sought to do. Each texture needed to feel realistic. The lighting had to be realistic; realistic in a way that we could proudly compare to a hardcore First-Person Shooter. At the same time, though, the models and colors we were using were for cartoon-like designs. So, our challenge was to convey this realism and atmosphere while remaining true to the visual style and already-familiar worldview of Sonic the Hedgehog. You might say that we wanted the player to feel like they’d entered some kind of theme park.

Old game screenshots give me the greatest feeling

Haha yes I do I do indeed

No. Most of Sonic Adventure's level design is pretty fucking boring once the initial spectacle (which is often kind of thin to begin with) wears off.
I wouldn't call Crash 2.5D at all. The levels are generally restrictive but they still make use of 3D space in a real way. So does Pac-Man World. I would also add Banjo-Kazooie to that list, though it's not always as platforming focused as I wish it was. Sunshine and Odyssey also deserve to be on that list, despite the memeing.

>Nostalgia, the thread
Why does Sonic suck? It is never liked for who he is, but what he was.

>teehee I said the word

Kys, you fucking faggot.

Attached: 1569515988992.png (766x950, 49.8K)

The reason I didn't add Banjo and Odyssey is because they are more collectathon over platformer, granted, so can be said about Spryo I guess, so why not, the deserve it too

However Sunshine isn't a meme. It's basically a Sonic game in quality control too much for me to respect, especially since this ISN'T Mario's first 3D game on older hardware.
