How would you implement The Wonderful 101 into Smash?
I'm not sure how taxing it would be on the hardware or if it would even be possible, but I'd have the main characters, "The Wonderful 101", be the fighter with Red as the default. Their gimmick would be swapping Wonderful Ones similar to Shulks Monado Arts, with the Wonder Liner drawing in their shapes to change the fighter giving different B specials for their Unite Morphs. If that couldn't work, then maybe quickly summoning them to attack using Multi-Unite, like Taikoubou from Jump! Ultimate Stars.
I'd like the stage to be a constantly shifting version of Blossom City or the Virgin Victory, with the former starting from on front of Blossom Elementary, to the city and fighting platform being anti-gravity assaulted like later in the game, to the ground finally crumbling in the outer atmosphere facing the GeathJERK armada as the Wonderful 100 combine to form Unite Stage and become the platform to fight on as the space battle rages..
But alas, we all have impossible hopes for something, eh?

Wonder Red may as well be 100% diconfirmed out of timing. We know that at the time Nintendo decided this pass, they had absolutely no interest in the IP, we know this because around that time, they gave it back to Platinum without objections. Even if the re-releases were to rise out interest on Nintendo's part, is already to late.

Kamiya also ended regretting NOT having Bayonetta on Project x Zone after the fact. I don't remember the whole quote, but in short, he realized they may have miss one of the only chances to get the crossover happen, and for once regrets that fans couldn't have enjoy it.
Also, Bayonetta is already in Smash, so his say in the matter is already done. Unless Nintendo wants Jack Cayman, the Vanquish guy, or Wonder Red indeed, Platinum's role is over.
