The helmet is actually based on an famous existing helmet, however the way that is is worn in the game is an artistic license. But to be fair, the original is missing some parts that makes dificult to some one who isnt familiarized with armors from this period to understand it.

The entire family was involved in the bussines, he would serve making personal requests to the big names while the others would works as deal brokers and managers of large manufaturing centers producing armors by the thousands across italy and even france to outfit armies.
Pic related was not made by his family but it is avaliated to have costed about 5 to 10 million US dollars, plus the price of the gold that was used, to give you an idea of the price of the really high end stuff.
