>didn't use idling program
>didn't get the cheaters lament
what the fuck valve
Didn't use idling program
>did use the idling program
>got the Cheater's Lament a year or two after they first dropped
What the fuck, Valve?
same lol
>used the idling program
>still got the cheater's lament the first drop wave
Great coding there Valve
>didn't play shit game
>didn't get the cheaters lament
feels good
I got it years later.
Was the second wave of cheaters laments just to shut up cry babies who used idling programs?
>never got Cheater's Lament
>barely missed Soldier of Fortune medal
>uninstalled right before crate depression
The "crate depression" was intentional. It was just for one last big revenue spike before Valve pulled the plug on updates. It's funny seeing how the TF2 economy hasn't even fully recovered from the depression yet and keys cost 56 refined and I remember them costing 3 refined.
Same here Lol.
How are you supposed to get it?
Been playing for years and never cheated
>The "crate depression" was intentional. It was just for one last big revenue spike before Valve pulled the plug on updates.
now that's a conspiracy theory i can get behind
>did use the idling program
>never got it
It's obvious. Valve don't really care if the economy is fucked or not since they don't really see any profits worth while after someone gets an unusual. Pretending it's a "glitch" will get people to urgently buy keys to unbox as many crates as possible before it's "fixed". We're talking about the same company that inflates prices up to 40x more than what their worth in the Mannco Store.
>This hat was awarded on September 2, 2009 to all players who had not used external idling programs
Calm down it’s a random drop
Explanation: they did it by adding a permanent invisible item to everyone's accounts which had your idle status flags; it also was some hacky way to get the notification popup to work because it had the popup's text as its name and description. So long as you didn't have the idler version of it, you got the halo.
Anyway, what happened is that they made every item already in an inventory 'Vintage'. Including the flag item. So the system no longer detected it was there.
I idled and had half my shit taken away and got the lament like a month after they were handed out
the funny thing about it the idle program is that it basically did the same thing as just sitting in an idle server
>actual value resources continually cost more of a resource that is constantly and infinitely generated
at some point listening to people complain about this has just become a comfortably familiar sound, like a train near your childhood home. obnoxious if you're new to it, but so filled with memories when you hear it again as an adult.
Prove you're not a newfag Zig Forums
I always liked the description on this item referring to those who played in the beta
based informative poster
i still remember a time when they were 2.33
still mad i missed primeval warrior by 1 day
The reason you and most other missed it is because you literally couldn't get it unless you played in the beta
>idlers got so salty over this they modded the hat to say FAG
they were awarded to people who played it on launch day. i didn't play on launch day because i didn't even know what tf2 was yet, i bought orange box to play ep2 on release day. i only launched it the next day because someone told me it was actually fun. that's how the story of how i lost 3400 hours of my life begins.
>still mad i missed primeval warrior by 1 day
primeval warriors were for people who played the closed beta on september 2007
you got a beta invite by pre-ordering the orange box
idlers are such cringers
haha nerd
Zig Forums named it in 2011
Because they had to be reminded that the beta even fucking existed. Gold was originally the top tier.
now i know i'm recalling incorrectly. you got it for playing the day before launch day, and that could have been from (somehow) playing the full game before release, or just by playing the beta. but nobody got primeval warrior at first, it was only grizzled veteran until they patched it in later, making grizzled veteran much less impressive, and that was what caused the buttmad.
can't
do people unironically still play tf2
post your full haunted sets to prove how depressed you were/are.
no
>Whiny idlers get pissed off, start targeting people with the lament, refuse to heal them, etc.
>Put on my lament just to piss people off
It was a good time.
>Deleted my cheaters lament as a kid because I fell for some dumb meme
rip, I never knew I would want to use it more than today as I see people occasionally with one
same. i even owned a couple idling servers to help pay for college.
>to help pay for college.
absolute state of americans
I love halloween! But this technically isn't eveything, some of them dont count as Halloween items. I like to buy halloween cosmetics this month before the prices go up
This shit brings my piss to a boil, I started playing barely 2 years after the Primeval Warrior, but still received the same bullshit diarrhea bronze colored shit medal people got who've joined 6 years later
Also I remember being pissed about the fugly hat when the game went f2p
guess again, retard.
I sold them years ago but during the first Halloween those were available I was on those severs non stop. I would think about it all day, get home and login then just farm haunted gifts all night.
struck a nerve?
