>Hard mode
>enemies just do more damage and don't drop health
Hard mode
>Hard mode
>Just spams more enemies at you
>Hard Mode
>enemies become damage sponges but in no way act or spawn differently
>"Hard Mode"
>"Intended difficulty by the devs"
Why the fuck isn't that standard difficulty then?
that's better than bullet sponge mode
>hard mode
>the story is less wasted down and redpills you
I blame game journos
>hard mode
>the sex scenes aren't skippable and last 5 minutes longer than normal
>hard mode
>enemies take more
>do more damage
>AND recover health
Add all that to botw weapon system and you have the worst case of wasted potential, they didndt even change the shrines around or add any puzzles.
>hard mode
>enemies deal more damage
>but so does you
>racing game on hard difficulty
>the AI just rubberbands harder and your car controls like a soap bar on ice
>Hard mode
>you still have to do mandatory tutorials
>the game still holds your hand the entire way through
>enemy AI doesn't improve
>no changes to any locations, puzzles, etc.
>hard mode changes the level layout
>hard mode
>enemies have new attacks and movement patterns
>have to pay extra for hard mode
>its just generic "enemies just do more damage and have more health" shit
>Hard mode
>game locks you out of hard mode if you don’t complete an arbitrary set of objectives and collectibles
>hard mode
>nothing changes except you have to solve a sliding puzzle on the corner of your screen while playing every 60 seconds or you die
Is there a game that actually does this?
>hard mode
>play as a minority and face systemic discrimination
>Hard mode
>Actually makes the game easier
>hard mode
>retain all the equipment and stats from normal mode
What's the point?
>New Game+
>Enemies and their damage scale exponentially
>you scale linearly
>hard mode
>adds fog of war
>AI unaffected
>enemies just do more damage and don't drop health
That seems to be the Zelda series' favourite way of doing things.
It's basically "get competent" mode, removing the safety netting that affords more mistakes.
Fucking BOTW
>enemy scales in beginner area
I don't fucking understand why devs don't implement hard modes properly. Like fuck man, DMC mastered this by changing when enemies were encountered and introducing new scenarios as well as improving their tactics. I've been playing a couple of the Halo's on legendary and it's just turned into the worst cover shooter fucking ever man. I feel like I have to play with others to make it bearable.
>Hard mode
>removes all checkpoints
>there are hour long sequences and you can't save
>hard mode
>the developers are so incompetent that its actually easier than normal mode
In halo's defense, it does change some enemies, at least in 1 and 2. I don't know about other's though.
The worst, and unfortunately, most common.
I'd prefer the default to be the enemies just do double damage or have a devil trigger.
