So what are your thoughts on Frostfang Barioth now that he’s been out a few days? I like him more than I expected to since I don’t like regular Barioth to begin with. Also is it just me or does he have basically zero health? He dies incredibly quickly compared to most monsters, even when I’m not playing very well and get knocked around constantly.

And take bets on the next update monster so we can all pretend we were right all along and call people who got it wrong faggots when it’s eventually revealed. I’m gonna go with something outlandish like Amatsu.

Perfect for a normal monster that can appear out in the wild. Have no idea what they were thinking making it an event exclusive

Yeah, his gear is only rarity 11 too unlike literally every other update monster being rarity 12 so there’s zero balance related reason to gate him like that.

is it even a T3?

I didn't even notice he came out so I'm behind on hunting him, anybody wanna room up?

He’s a great fight and makes barioth even more unique in world compared to the other two kitties. He’s fun as fuck, great design, great fight, cool looking armor, and his weapons and armor are actually competitive. And I don’t think he’s easy, it’s just that we all have op gear now so he just dies faster, he dies in the same timeframe of any other tier 2 tempered. Personally I think the next monster is gonna be one of the following:

Ukanlos/Aknator
Chameleos
Gore/shaggy
Amatsu (they might pull a rajang and have a new skeleton)

And I personally think that “leak” from the Twitter faker was complete bullshit. Like monster hunter could never be a full MMO because it’ll be nothing but more power creep and more levels of difficulty that’ll just drive away new players and MH isn’t the type of demographic that’ll pay for a battle pass or pay pig for all the cosmetics. I love the series but I’ll easily quit it if that ever happened. I can see though that’ll it’ll turn into a tri/quaderly yearly series though, with:

Year one: main game
Year two: master rank dlc
Year 3: drought to build craving for something new back up
Year 4: new main game title

What I can see changing too is just better planned out post release schedule with more event quests, sieges, crossovers etc. because they increase customer retention. All I hope that they keep the safi jiva siege model but instead of upgrades being a slot machine for each weapon there’s like 3 pages of skills with set material prices and as you fight the seige with the specific siege weapons more you unlock more upgrade pages and you’re free to buy any skill from the list at a set price (no rng) and material are refunded if you decide to remove a skill. And the faggot mod that deletes MH threads wakes up at 6am CST, so we might wanna move the thread over to /vrpg/ just to be safe

What platform are you on?

Frostfang Barioth is a very nice monster, but there's indeed zero reason for it to be an exclusive event

I'm about to start a female hunter to learn a new weapon, maybe hammer, what mods would you recommend for fun?

a rope for your neck your coomer faggot

why? I already have a male hunter, whats the point of 2

ask me when you become a cultural phenomenon
for now, fuck off to

T2

cool monster, it allowed GS to stack frostcraft and critdraw

We've been able to do that since safi
Frostcraft
Crit Draw
Punish Draw
This isn't new

I just got this last week. Why am I such a fucking shitter? Any time I ever use a melee weapon it's an instant cart trilogy series but using the LBG I can fight 12 large monsters at once. I just want to unga bunga but instead I dance around putting down mines and shooting pierce crap because I die the moment I grab a sword.

LGB is the easy mode weapon for shitters, for the other weapons you just need practice and learn the monsters movesets

I was trying to learn switchaxe but it seemed like whenever I managed to get into sword mode my attack time was over and I either had to roll away or take a billion damage with a hit.

This isn’t a general. Also that /vrpg/ thread is pretty cringe so it’s a no-go. The usual /vrpg/ MH threads are pretty good though.

One thing I hate about the series is how the concept of walking for movement barely seems to exist for monsters outside of when they decide to relocate to another area. Anytime they need to close distance to a player the AI's only option is to pick an attack that moves forward a set distance. It's why we have monsters like Tigrex who end up overshooting with the tard dash and then has to do it right away again. You can only hope it does the rock projectile instead so you can get to it and stand 90 degrees to its side to make it stand still for 3 seconds.

Finally been playing through Iceborne. How does a fence stop Velkhana? It can fly.

Yea that part was stupid. I will never understand why the devs didn’t make that area the IB standard arena

If Chammy doesn't make it into the game with an updated moveset to take advantage of its invisibility, I will fly to Japan and fucking riot. Especially after they made me deal with Alacunt.

WHY WAS HE FORGOTTEN

>being an MP shitter

Namielle uses some animations that were previously unique to Chameleos so his chances are decent. Plus if they add Chameleos and Valstrax then Iceborne will have every normal size Elder Dragon in the series in it.

Elder Dragons are just dumb animals

>cries in Shagaru Magala

Elder Dragons are generally implied to have human level intelligence or at least some sort of sentience, which makes it kind of fucked up how we hunt them

We’re the monsters user, it’s in the name

>Elder Dragons are generally implied to have human level intelligence
They don't seem to show any of it

>which makes it kind of fucked up how we hunt them
>we need to hunt them or else they will destroy their own ecosystem
funny how the new world was fine for hundreds of years with no human intervention but as soon as we arrived it all changed to
>we need to kill them, they are destroying everything
