I don't get it? Why doesn't he know he killed his wife? Did the town make him stupid or something?

Silent Hill is more of a concept than a physical location. Think of it as a unified psyche dive for whichever unlucky fuckers wind up there.
Daily reminder that Maria’s body was in the back seat when he got to SH as confirmed by the devs themselves.
he crazy, thats it.
Okay, lets assume you're right and the place really doesn't have a coherent way of functioning and only punishes people. Why is that good? Why does that make the story good?
Don't worry the overanalyzing detectives are coming to explain bad game writing.
How's he gonna explain that to Laura in the leave ending
once heather got home in sh3 i immediately lost interest. the final level was cool but all they did was copy sh2 levels and give the script to a monkey
They look like monsters to you?
Because it lets us approach the actual plot from an unusual angle, slowly piecing together the actual truth of the character we've been playing as well as those they interact with
ok that line was cool

he's quoting some retarded youtube "critic"
Because defamiliarization is the central concept of art. The process of perception is what keeps us interested.
To be honest, I really was just memeing like pointed out.
This is the first time in almost a year that I've been to Zig Forums at all, so thanks for making my time worthwhile by introducing me to that interesting concept.
wait what
so he just ran off and left a dead body in the car?
i think the better question is why tf he left the door open
>Is actually looking at you
What did they mean by this?
My I ask who is the retar- I mean, critic? I kinda stopped following the SH scene since the games started getting shit in 2009.
He’s looking at the back mirror to see Mary’s body in the car. He wasn’t actually in the bathroom.
>browsing reddit and posting fake shit team silent says wasnt on purpose
What did he mean by this?
Then explain yourself what that is
>team silent says wasnt on purpose

I got a letter. The name on the envelope said "Aniki." My Gachi's name... It's ridiculous, couldn't possibly be true... That's what I keep telling myself... A dead person can't write a letter. Aniki died of that damn crash two years ago. So then why am I looking for him? Our "special place"... What could he mean? This whole town was our special place. Does he mean the park by the beach? We spent the whole day there. Just the two of us, staring at the water. Could Aniki really be there? Is he really alive... waiting for me?
The stages. Also he was kinda insane
Is he nuts? No, he's insane!
Eyes are the window to the soul. Eye contact means he is letting you into his soul and you will view from his eyes as he faces his psyche manifested before him in the town of silent hill.
Ez
He does know. James is a sociopathic murderer who got sent to silent hill.
>Sociopath
>Regrets it
user.
Dude spent years watching his wife suffer from cancer. It was extremely painful psychologically for him to watch someone he loved wither away while becoming bitter and mean. He killed her both as a way to end her suffering and his own. But the guilt of it mixed with his own long term damaged psyche caused him to block out the part where he was the cause and it was easier for his mind to accept that she had passed on her own. Unfortunately the town carried that pain too and I think it/he needed to confront his guilt and regret to find closer and move on, or not.
Maria or Mary? I thought Maria was a psychical manifestation by the town itself. Having Mary's corpse makes more sense since he did kill her.
He was gonna kill himself and was readying himself in the bathroom but the shock of it all finally broke down his psyche when he was getting ready I guess. That's why both VAs consider the In The Water ending canon.
The town is supposedly very connected to the spiritual world. James suffered within it because he was suffering inside. The town just manifested his pain into actual monsters. The little girl had no problem in SH because she wasnt conflicted. James brought it on himself. Same with Angela and Eddie. They all saw different things but ultimately the town played on their fears to get them to face their own demons or to succumb to them.
