I know someone who worked on the Skylanders TV show who was taken to a room full of Activision games and just told to take whatever they want. Assuming they also got paid, clearly they have no problem justifying low pay in exchange for giving people games.

Blizzard is doing this instead of a raise. Technically, it wouldn't be illegal for a company to pay their workers minimum wage and then pay them in whats essential scrip that is "valued" at a wage equal to a normal wage for whatever job.

The only reason nobody does this is because companies know they can't get away with it. No one would want take $16,000 a year plus $64,000 a year in company swag for a job that pays $80,000 a year Blizzard is testing what they can get away with.
