>games as a service
>EA games as a service
no thanks
hope game pass comes to steam too
>>EA games as a service
In theory something like paying a yearly subscription fee for access to all EA games would be fine. Assuming you like EA games. But you don't get access to all EA games with the subscription. Only some. Maybe on consoles that sort of bullshit flies but on PC that's just a rip off.
>Steam integration into Xbox
>Gamepass comes to Steam
How would you feel Zig Forums?
Shocked
But it would never happen
You still need Origin installed dont you? Using it on Steam is literally launching another application for almost zero reason?
That would be the only thing that saves the SeX.
Wouldn't be so sure user, Xbox seem to be locking themselves down to a service model like game pass rather than console, an early Steam integration brings the stability of Steam with what is (probably) the best game pass you can get, would be a huge W in my eyes. Because fuck me the Xbox app is still fucking trash.
Shit still uses toredo to IP mask in local games, barely fucking works for anyone.
so fifa and cowonduty
as top played
pass
Launching Steam is launching an application for almost zero reason in the first place.
How does EA Access work with the Sims 4? Do you get the DLC too?
I would suck a dick if that happened.
I'd gladly pay for EA Access but they don't have enough games to justify it. How many games has EA even released in the last year other than a Madden title? Maybe if I didn't already own all the games I wanted from them it would be a different story but $100 a year for their Premier version would require at least $100 worth of new releases each year. Uplay+ is more or less the same story but at least with them you get a new AssCreed, Far Cry, or Tom Clancy game once in a while. With EA you get a new Battlefield every 3-4 years, a new Bioware game in the same amount of time, and that's about it.
I'm 100% for subscription services like Gamepass but publisher specific ones don't offer enough content and they cost more per month than Gamepass does. EA would have to kill off their basic subscription and have only one $5 a month service with the same benefits that Premier had to make it worth the price.
Would love Origin and Steam integration at this point, given EA are playing nice with steam at this point. Just wanna have my origin games with steam interface honestly and listed alongside them without me doing it manually.
>>Gamepass comes to Steam
The only reason I doubt that'll happen is the third party games on there.
I will never pay for one of these rental services. I'd rather have at least some degree of control over my library.
The gamepass on steam shit would honestly be hilarious considering EGS exclusive games tend to come to gamepass first.
kind of, it gives you a light version of Origin.
It's not that bad really
Can someone give me a quick rundown on gamepass/subscription services for games? I have no clue what exactly it is they do, my impression is
>you pay monthly/yearly fee
>you get access to games
>catch is that you never own the games and the second you stop paying you lose access, or if publisher decides that it won't be on pass anymore
>entire model hinges around consumer spending more for less on the pass than buying individual titles that they then own
only retards think about subscriptions as something to keep up all the time
having a subscription on for a year is like the equivalent of going to an amusement park 2 times a year and buying a year pass because it's 5% cheaper
EA games aren't worth keeping, $5 to play games for a month is enough, definitely cheaper than going to blockbuster and renting a videogame for a week
this,

Will this get me puss?
>tfw you already pay for EA access on the xbone
that's exactly what it is yes
this point though
>entire model hinges around consumer spending more for less on the pass than buying individual titles that they then own
is only really spending more for less for the average person that may not play very much, if you happen to play a lot of stuff in shortish amounts of time it can be very worth it
Their $5 a month version doesn't give you access to new releases, their Premium subscription for $15 a month does. So if you pay $15 a month for the new Battlefield and play it for more than 4 months you end up losing money. With Gamepass I'm paying $5 a month and have hundreds of games to play. Even if I subscribe to Gamepass Ultimate for $15 a month for a year just to play Halo, I have plenty of other titles to play to justify that fee. $15 a month with only a single game to play for a couple years is insane. They would have to start getting the same kind of 3rd party support that Gamepass has to make their service worth the price.
Origin just seems to just be dying off now.
>ea games
hard skip
>but on PC that's just a rip off.
You get the vast majority of games aside from games released in this year for like $2.99. That's not a rip off, especially once you consider that games lose their entire value if you don't replay them. So instead of buying a full priced game you just buy 2 years worth of access for it and if you pay the additional premium you pretty much get every game.
Still woulnt pay a single cent for something I dont own.
Nothing really worth playing.
Gamepass would be good tho.
you say this but
>Xbox buys Steam
>Series X and Series S are the first of many budget gaming PCs
>crossplay between PC and Xbox
how did they do it
i'm not subscribing to old video games or paying an even larger fee to essentially demo new games.
