civ 2 is great if you are into retrogaming, civ 4 is many fans favourite, it has plenty of features with expansions, my personal favourite is modding civ v to have civ 4 diplomatic features like vassals

civ 6 is shit

Best is Civ4 but 5 or 6 is easier to get into.

i might add, hex tiles and no unit stacking make combat much more satisfying in civ v than 4

Best Civilization game is Civilization II.
Most people can't get past the interface.
Second best game in the series is Civilization IV.
Civ 5 is is a finely polished piece of shit.
Civ 6 is diarrhea.
